For those who have a Tesla and use FSD (or possibly regular mode)-does the car understand school hours and days and know it's not necessary to slow down when school is not in session? My cars recognize school zone speed limit signs and slow down but I'm tired of the car jamming on the brakes on a Sunday at 5 PM.
I thought the OP was rhetorical. I don't have the latest AI4 hardware so I have had the frozen V12.x FSD software for around a year. I tried it but wasn't impressed. Not ready. There's hope in the newly released V14 lite for the people with older HW3 like me. I may try it again but I don't need the extra stress babysitting "beta" software vs driving myself. Someday... though it may be another brand's ADAS with solid SAE level 2 or 3 features. I follow the Tesla owners' forum and the current FSD is still lacking in edge cases, though proper etiquette with school zones (active and inactive) shouldn't be an edge case.
No, I drive with cruise control on whenever possible. I run into these areas with speed limit changes in smaller towns. One road in particular they dropped speed one day to 40 from 55 and what do you know, there just happened to be 2 sheriffs right on the other side of the sign the next day.
