Wishing all a healthy and prosperous 2026! Only a few cannon booms and fireworks down the street at 7pm. Illegal of course.

A little snow on the ground and snow squalls ending soon. 26F (3C) now and the high for today.

Travelled up to holiday home on Monday with usual stop half way, took it steady and efficiency wasn’t too bad for a cold run. Needed a detour as very busy!:
    2 Drives
    Total Miles Driven 97.20
    Rated Miles Used 104.93
    Efficiency 92.63 %
Time Driven 2 Hours 34 Minutes
    kWh Used 26.86 kWh
    Wh/Mile 276 Wh

Short slow and hilly trip from holiday home to a pub for lunch. Did a 2.5 mile bracing walk before down by the seafront with the dog. With wind chill felt like 23F even though above freezing:
    2 Drives
    Total Miles Driven 7.14
    Rated Miles Used 9.87
    Efficiency 72.34 %
    Time Driven 25 Minutes
    kWh Used 2.53 kWh
    Wh/Mile 354 Wh

We had quite a few fireworks in the distance, dog didn’t enjoy that!

Our 5 y.o. cockapoo didn't like the fireworks either. She barked at the first couple loud noises, then huddled with her pack for safety.

We actually stayed up until a little after midnight.
My yahoo neighbors were blowing off fireworks.

Also, I was shopping online for a 2026 Prius LE today.
I need to drive about 40 miles for a dealer who has some.
    LE trim cars. About $31K

Not seeing much in the way of 2026 Camry XLE right now either. I'm trying to figure out how customizable the economy info you can get out of it is. My 2016 Prius had a lot, was looking at old photos. Things like daily, monthly, time spent on battery etc. I wish I'd kept my 22 Camry, I could get off the hook mileage once I figured out how to drive for efficiency.

Sounds super cheap for a 2026 - we pay loaaaaads more for cars in the UK lol

Forgot to post a trip from Wednesday to Grosmont: 18.15 miles, used 21.06 miles.

Came home a day early from holiday home as snow was forecast! Needed a detour from normal route but not too bad. Usual stop halfway:
    2 Drives - bitterly cold o_O
    Total Miles Driven 94.61
    Rated Miles Used 104.07
    Efficiency 90.91 %
Time Driven 2 Hours 32 Minutes
    kWh Used 26.64 kWh
    Wh/Mile 282 Wh

Got back with 16% left so whole trip done on one cheap home charge (as usual) :D

Of course, there are a few mandatory fees the dealer likes to add on (they all do ) and a state sales tax that I believe is 6.75 %, so I'm
not sure what out-the-door price will be. Still not entirely sure if I want to trade a car with 16K miles for a new one, but I'm a bit worried
about maintenance and repair costs for the next ten years. It's hard to beat Toyota reliability.

To Planet Fitness. Of course, engine never quite gets fully warm on that
short trip (8.9 miles), but it does get warm on the way home.
No, I don't use heat in the winter unless I need to keep windshield clear
    when it's snowing or raining.
Yes, I would use a heated steering wheel if I had one.
