I may not be posting in the AM , instead I can post both legs of my commute when I get home from work.
Because of a lot of changes at my job , I don't always have a computer available.
That's okay , not sure how much longer I want to work.
Possibly only until the end of the year.

Elantra is running well, but we all know that cold weather really hurts efficiency
on the HEVs,and of course, the BEVs.

 

Not working today. Temp in the high teens F and sunny.
Went to gym and had a long and satisfying workout.
Then went to buy fuel, then a few groceries.

17.6 miles, fcd = 54.1 mpg.

Bought fuel at the Pride station (Shell fuel)
for $3.059. My BP Visa card doesn't always give the best price for top tier fuel, even with the $0.15/gal discount.
But I'm glad I acquired that card last year, as Costco only accepts Visa.

574.3 miles, fcd = 60.9 mpg, 9.979 gallons

 

This morning it is 10 deg F in Naperville, 13 in Elk Grove.

Stopped at two stores on the way home.
Temp ranged from 28 to 34 deg.

Went to work and back. Temp in the 20s all day.

I offered to work tomorrow and an extra day next week.
Igor died.

Igor?

 

Okay. I worked with Igor since Sep 2013. He was a civil engineer in Russia, but his degrees, credentials
were not recognized here. His job title was CNC machinist, but he was also proficient with CAD/CAM software
(Mastercam) . He was easily the best guy there; I learned a lot from him. Wednesday the 3rd we found out he
dies alone at home. He was very private about personal things, I didn't even know if he was married or had children.
He was only 58 or 59 (my guess). We don't know the cause of death, there is an investigation.

I miss him, and I think our small company misses him more. If I was a few years younger I would try to fill his shoes.
