Taking another tact, late last month, GM's CEO, Mary Barra sold 40% of her personal stock holdings in the company. GM said Barra sold 907,024 shares of GM stock at an average price of $58.24 at time of sale on Aug. 28, valued at approximately $52.8 million. The following day, Barra sold 87,839 shares priced at $58.13 pursuant to the wind-down of her estate planning tool, called a grantor retained annuity trust, valued at about $5.1 million. GM 5-year Stock Price Chart GM at 58.37 is up 91.6% over the last 5-years. The S&P 500 by comparison is up 96.9% over the same period. The stock options she sold came from her GM compensation on Feb. 14, 2020, plus stock accrued between 2011 and 2024.
