    Welcome to the grind :D

After breakfast Sunday morning, went to Blenheim Palace, fantastic place. Had afternoon tea and a good wander round the palace, garden and grounds. Fabulous run back, slightly faster but no holdups, unusually did it in one hit:

    2 Drives
    Total Miles Driven 139.63
    Rated Miles Used 118.09
    Efficiency 118.24 %
Time Driven 3 Hours 2 Minutes
    kWh Used 25.55 kWh
    Wh/Mile 183 Wh

Got back with just under 19% battery left, just over 60 miles of range :D so at that rate, I could have done over 345 miles on one charge - wow!

(just realised I had crossed over into June ).

Thank you for starting our thread, Gord.

    Sunday I drove the Fit 30.9 miles , fcd = 49.7 MPG

I also took a ride on the Honda CB300R.
    8.4 miles, fcd = 71.4 MPG.

Today, in the Fit again, 33.4 miles, fcd = 52.6 MPG

Today it is 64 deg F in Naperville, 68 in Elk Grove.

    Wind S 9

    33.4 miles, fcd = 58.0 MPG

That's a perfect storm. I take little credit for that number. I'm just driving
"normal" under perfect conditions. On the way home tonight, I'll probably
have an okay number until I get to the northeast corner of Naperville, and then
I'll lose maybe 4 MPG by the time I get home.

Edit : I just looked at the weather for this afternoon. not so good
    for traveling south and west.
Windy with showers developing this afternoon. High near 85F. Winds SSW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 50%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Today, 68 deg F in Naperville. 67 in Elk Grove.

wind SW 6, light rain all the way in.

    33.4 miles, fcd = 54.7 MPG

Next week I start working three days (Tues Thurs Fri)
I was supposed to retire today, but several weeks ago they asked me
if I would consider working part-time. In other words, they are finding it
difficult to replace me. This works out for me. I will have more time and energy
to do the things I need to do. I can see this lasting for 3-6 months. I really don't
want to do this commute thru another Chicago winter.

Edit : Filled up Friday after work.
    $3.299 for a gallon of 87.
Forgot the miles , but fcd was 51.5 MPG

    Thanks Edwin :D
Dropped our dog off at daughter’s house and drove to Peterborough station to catch the train to London. Quite a long way to catch a train but there’s engineering works on our usual line 5 miles from our house and this was the best option. We’re going to see a show that our daughter got free tickets for :

    Great show :)
Set off back home from train station, set off at 00:12, 2 closed roads (engineering works) but not too bad a run back. Slightly higher average speed than normal (just wanted to get home), max 71mph, avg 56mph, got back at 01:50

    Yesterday 6/15:
From parents home in San Diego to my home in Mission Viejo:
    0615252219.jpg
Warm temps ranging from the 80s to high 60s, calm wind through the drive, overall net decline in altitude (around 600 ft) gave pretty good 74.1 mpg FCD. I will admit the average speed was probably a bit lower than I should have, and crested some hills around 45 mph (PSL 55~65mph). Might have been able to shave off a few miles with optimized route, but this was pretty good.

    Today 6/16:
Back to the work grind... left a bit later than ideal this morning, cooler temps in the low to mid 60s, higher humidity.
    0616250922.jpg
Impressive for a morning commute, but this direction is mainly downhill (around 400 ft net decline). I think the warm engine from the long drive back home yesterday helped, as well traffic conditions had some stop and go which allowed a bit more coasting. Still had some fast-ish braking activating friction brakes, so could do better.

    0616251918.jpg
Ate back some of the gain on the evening commute, traffic conditions were a bit more challenging again due to leaving a bit late. Temps were even warmer, ranging from mid 70s to 80s. Probably could get 65 FCD with some more practice (and more amenable traffic).

Tank average is around 71 currently, we'll see how it goes the rest of the week. Summer definitely helps, even in the perpetually warm SoCal o_O

Still pulling great numbers, @visionseeming. Prius C, right? I haven't seen one in a couple of years. Some Vs though.

Edwin, you gotta stop holding back! Kidding. ;)

Yup, 2013 Prius C. It should show up in my signature (unless something changed). It's my pride and joy, I'll take a decent picture of it tomorrow. Every summer I kind of revive my hypermiling bug, haven't posted recently, but wanted to get back into the habit. :)

    Today 6/17:
Bit warmer morning, mid to hi 60s, clear skies. Traffic was heavier than yesterday, but this meant more EV miles on the freeway (although inching along was tedious :p).
    0617250916.jpg
Spectacular FE though! Close to my record (I think was 98+) for this trip. Note it's not completely fair since SOC ended low (less than 1/2).

Evening: very warm, temps in the hi 70s to hi 80s. I managed to leave work "on time" (hard to do these days), so traffic wasn't as bad.
    0617251831.jpg
Pretty close to the 65 I was aiming for yesterday. ;) This was despite the uphill trip and having to recharge battery to normal (6/8 bars). Not hot or humid enough to need A/C yet, luckily.
