Now with DCFC stations at 130 Pilot/Flying J Travel Centers across more than 25 states, EV drivers have another network to use thanks to Pilot, GM, and EVgo. The network offers an elevated experience along popular corridors and major interstates, enabling long-distance EV travel. EV drivers can travel to many popular US destinations while charging on the Tesla and Electrify America DCFC networks. Today, you can add EVgo to the mix. With GM/EVgo/Pilot Flying J DCFCing infrastructure concentrated in the eastern portion of the country, travel between Minneapolis and Albany, and Miami to Houston can be completed without apprehension. While a corridor of chargers covering the desert southwest, already routes from San Francisco to Washington DC can be completed with the longest range EVs. EVgo has indicated it will continue to fill out a corridor across the vast expanses of the west in short order. Since Pilot, GM, and EVgo announced their collaboration in 2022, they are building out the network to include up to 2,000 fast-charging stalls at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J locations around the country, more than three times the current number. Pilot’s travel centers include lounges, free Wi-Fi, on-site restaurants, grab-and-go food and beverage options, and clean restrooms. In addition, many of the charge locations provide overhead canopies and pull-through charging stalls that are more convenient than back-in stalls and accommodate drivers who are towing trailers.
