The RAV4 almost hit half a million sold last year! Wayne Gerdes – CleanMPG – Jan. 3, 2025 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid The most powerful Camry Hybrid in history is now Hybrid only thankfully. Along with its std. 225/232 hp (FWD/AWD) output, the fuel economy is not bad either! Trim - mpgUS (city/highway/combined) LE FWD - 53/50/51 LE AWD - 51/49/50 SE, XSE, XLE FWD - 48/47/47 SE, XLE AWD - 46/46/46 XSE AWD - 44/43/44 The 2025 9th gen provides more performance by combining Toyota’s 2.5L I4 mated to the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System. 2025 Toyota Camry Exterior The 9th gen Camry looks sleeker with a hammerhead front fascia. I am not a fan of the older Avalon like whale mouth front fascia but that is just me. All trims feature slim LED headlights, DRLs and taillamps. The SE and XSE trims feature racing-inspired functional aerodynamic air ducts, front-side canards and a rear diffuser. The rear also has an exposed dual-tip exhaust (<-- why????) as well as a rear lip spoiler. The XSE also includes a unique color matched front grille and black trunk garnish. 18” multi-spoke black alloys are standard on the SE and 19” black and smoke gray alloys are standard on the XSE. 2025 Toyota Camry Interior The SE includes SofTex-trimmed seats with white accents while the XSE adds leather-trimmed interior with “shooting blade” patterned perforations. Both the SE and XSE comes equipped with standard aluminum sport pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. The base LE features an embossed pattern within the woven fabric. The XLE is the first Toyota Camry to feature leather and Dinamica microfiber-trimmed seats. The pattern is also incorporated into the front door panels and dashboard. Toyota increased the bottom seat cushion length while the headrest was softened and moved rearward. The XLE/XSE can be equipped with front heated and ventilated seats. The higher trims also use front-side acoustic laminated glass. 2025 Toyota Camry Drivetrain Under the hood, the Camry is only available with the 5th gen Hybrid drivetrain. The electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) features precise on-demand front-rear torque distribution in accordance with driving conditions. The Camry’s retuned suspension provides a balanced feel whether hitting an on-ramp a little hot or turning on an off-camber country curve. The sport trims are a bit stiff but provide even greater stability and handling behind the wheel. 2025 Toyota Camry Infotainment A 7” digital gauge cluster comes standard on LE/SE while the XLE/XSE includes a larger 12.3” unit. The XLE/XSE can also be equipped with a 10” Heads Up Display (HUD). The Toyota Audio Multimedia System includes a std. 8” or optional 12.3” central display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a Qi wireless charging pad is standard. 2025 Toyota Camry Safety The Camry’s Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) includes the following: Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist Lane Tracing Assist Road Sign Assist Automatic High Beams Proactive Driving Assist It also arrives with Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, standard. For those looking for additional Driver Assistance features, the XLE/XSE trims can be equipped with a Premium Plus Package which includes: Traffic Jam Assist Front-Cross Traffic Alert Lane Change Assist Panoramic View Monitor Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking The Camry Hybrid’s exterior/interior is the most elegant yet, the drivetrain is best-in-class, and the safety additions bring it to the top of the field. Yeah, it is that good. 2024 Toyota US Sales Overview Toyota reported 2024 US sales of 2,332,623, up 4.2% above the 2,248,477 sold in 2023. 2024 Toyota US Sales Highlights Camry sales of 309,876 were up 6.6% over the 290,649 sold in 2023 Tundra sales of 159,528 were up 27.4% over the 125,185 sold in 2023 Prius Prime sales of 12,672 were up 67.7% over the 7,557 sold in 2023 RAV4 Hybrid sales of 208,356 were up 29.3% over the 161,125 sold in 2023 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV GM retains its #1 ranking in terms of US sales. Tesla has fallen to #10 just behind Subaru while Mazda leapt two places to #11 placing both VW and Mercedes in its rear view. VW also jumped up two spots to #12, now ahead of both Mercedes and BMW. 2025 Toyota RAV4 PHEV A name change from "Prime" with the next gen set for a 2026 MY release. RAM has fallen precipitously from its decades long, former #3 spot to #5 with Toyota’s RAV4 and Honda’s CRV now outpacing it. Tesla’s Model Y fell two places from #4 to #6 as the RAV4 and CRV passed it in 2024. As expected, Honda’s award winning compact Civic moved into the #10 spot with the value-oriented Corolla falling short of this year’s list by just over 9,000 vehicle sales. 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Ford's EVs had a good 2024 in terms of sales although the pair are still losing $s per vehicle sold. And onto the EV sales finish... Through all of 2024, Stellantis took the largest hit with not just the sales decline but in lockstep, the market share falloff of 1.6% shows how poorly it performed last year. Mazda's 0.4% and GMs 0.3% increase were well deserved. With 20 years’ worth of US Automotive sales data to rely upon, 2024's US Automotive Sales of 15.92 million units increased by 2.5% over the 15.53 million sold in 2023. That total was the highest achieved since Covid decimated the global economy back in 2020. The 2024 US sales totals were unfortunately nowhere near the 17 million plus unit peaks in 2005 and 2015 - 2019. Estimates to reach 16.5 million in 2024 are to me a bit optimistic as Government downsizing – Government employment disappearing, is going to be a noticeable drag on consumer spending and the second largest purchase decision most make is not going to be immune. Here's a good analysis of the 2025 TCH. Another review recommended the LE because it has smaller tires. Can't understand why Toyota can't offer those of us that want good economy and creature comforts smaller wheels in conjunction with acoustic glass and the various tech enhancements. And if the car doesn't have cooled seats, fuggedaboutit. Until you live in the south, and I lived in Florida for a few years, you don't appreciate being able to cool the seats via remote start.
