47F this morning, and the wind S 2 - right direction but not strong enough to do much - contributed to 56.2mpg on the fcd over 18.3 miles.
For some reason, there are collisions everywhere this morning. The traffic reports on the radio were running over three minutes long as they listed all the delays. The traffic works in my favor, so I just turn up the volume and crawl along.

Today I am in the Fit. Coming from Bolingbrook to Elk Grove, I take mostly
IL Rte 53 straight north. Speed limits 35-45 mph.

    28 deg F everywhere, wind W 11

    27.7 miles, fcd = 50.4 mpg.

After work, I will go work out, stop home, pack, swap cars
    and go back to Bolingbrook.

47F again this morning, but wind today is W 8mph. The 18.3 mile trip ended at 55.3mpg on the fcd. The trip home last night was a very summer-like wind/rain storm. Gale winds from the south and heavy rain, but the headwind didn't hurt much because traffic was moving so slowly. The very wet trip ended at 70.1mpg on the dash - one of very few 70s you see in the winter time.

Not sure if I've seen one yet. But at the time of day Sunday that I typically drive the Elantra, there is very little traffic.

There is a park about 3/4 of a mile from the house, and I go there every night to walk a few miles. Great way to keep fit. Over the years, I realized there are a couple of stray cats that were dumped there by previous owners for reasons unknown. Since they were not born in the wild, they don't know enough to eat rodents and birds. They were left to starve and find shelter in the frigid winters. Their main territory is the area with the salt trucks and other town-owned trailers, trucks, construction equipment, etc. I typically find them sleeping on top of the truck tires - off the ground and out of the wind. Knowing there are hungry little fang-infested mouths to feed gets me off the couch to go walk even when temperatures are in the teens. They need food, especially in the winter. And I mix water in with the food so they get the water they need even when any water in the environment would freeze within ten minutes.
Last night with the howling wind and heavy rain, the foul weather meant no walking, so I drove there on the way home from the office. I set out a bowl of food placed under the air compressor trailer. The trailer provides overhead shelter so they can eat without getting too wet. The drive back home from the park can be completed almost entirely on electric power because it's all quiet residential streets. The ability to creep at around 15mph lets you cover a lot of ground in the car without much movement of the battery meter. That definitely boosted me up over 70 on the fcd last night.

My drive to Michigan Friday morning was good. 285 miles because I left from daughter's house,
not my own. Not sure about wind speed and direction, but temperature was between 30 and
    35 F. Fcd = 63.1 mpg.

45F this morning and wind SW 10 - a tailwind - ended at 60.8mpg fcd over 18.3 miles. With the clocks changing, I think everyone was still half asleep at the wheel, and the lower speeds worked with the tailwind to get the first over-60 morning in a while.

Left Bloomfield Hills , MI at 9:45 AM
Temps ranged from 45 to 67 deg F.
Wind ( Naperville ) was WSW 13 , so headwind all the way.

    Fcd = 64.0 MPG -2 % 64.0*.98 = 62.7 mpg.
Overall round trip is about 61.
