Saturday I drove the Fit 48.6 miles, about 46 mpg.

Today, Drove the Elantra 35.6 miles, went to work out, then
concert in a church, then Aldi, then home. fcd = 55.2 mpg.
It's been below freezing for 12 days.

Tomorrow, the Fit gets an oil change.

A bit warmer this morning, at 35F, and SW wind at 5mph. 18.3 mile drive ended at 57.5 mpg on the fcd.
I filled up yesterday after I got the low fuel warning to show for the first time since I owned the car. Filling only until the pump shut off, it took 9.71 gallons. Regular was 2.959. But the Shell supermarket rewards were up to 0.90 a gallon, so I paid 2.059. Exactly $20. It has been a long time since $20 filled the tank.

    Thanks Bill.
Went to the dentist this morning (wife sat in the car while I was there - she may have had the heat on ) then on to the hospital to visit mom. She’s much better already so she’s going back home this afternoon :).

Thanks Bill, definitely . My sister went to visit today so I went for a 20.7 mile bike ride then we went to a garden center for lunch and get some compost. Lots of reductions so some good bargains as well

Thanks, Bill. My secret ? No trips shorter than 15 miles. Actually, most of them are 25 + miles. :)

Today, 25 deg F in Naperville, 26 in Elk Grove.

    Wind SSE 7

    35.2 miles, fcd = 48.9 mpg.

Yesterday was the first day since Jan 1 to get above freezing here.
Today we should see 40 deg, so one of my motorcycles is going to get a little exercise.

Longer trips definitely help mpg :D

Had to go to daughter’s house for 08:00 this morning to allow a plasterer access to her bathroom to sort out a crack in the ceiling (new build). Didn’t take long for stage 1 so back home and then return at 11:00 for stage 2 of the repair. He needed a third visit so left him the keys! Went to see mom, dropped wife off in local town on the way to have lunch with a friend. Mom’s doing well after her hospital spell. Picked wife back up then home:

Didn't drive today until 6:30 PM, when I took the Elantra to
Wheaton College to see a production of Into The Woods.
    Temperature was between 18 and 25 F.
    30.3 miles, fcd = 52.3 mpg.

This was still on the tank I bought in Chesterton IN on December 1
was getting mighty low ( 25 miles remaining) .
I put in three gallons at $3.199/gallon in Naperville.
That bought me 175 miles. I won't be in Chesterton again until Jan 31.

Today it is minus 2 deg F in Naperville and the same
in Elk Grove. Wind was a helpful SW 8.

    33.4 miles, fcd = 41.9 mpg.
Hey, I beat the highway EPA !
By practically a whole mile per gallon.

Edit : trip home was 13 deg warmer. Total
for the day was 66.4 miles, fcd = 42.5 mpg.

Over here by the pond, we got our first actual snow last night. A healthy two inches. So the 18.3 mile trip through 18F air with a slight NE (head) wind landed me at 52.1 on the fcd.
You beat highway EPA by almost-a-whole, and I beat the EPA by a tenth! Wish I didn't use the defroster quite as long when starting off.

I'm hoping that this is the coldest day of the year.
