This one crossed my desk this morning and even though it is a lease, it may be worth investigating for some.

Considering the Ioniq 5 SEL is my #1 consideration for an EV purchase right now, a mid-trim SEL in RWD form retails for $47,400 + $1,395 D&H and TTL. Hyundai is currently offering a $7,500 rebate so out the door incl. TTL is going to cost a new owner ~ $45,000 USD. I have read of more than $2k off retail from dealers around the country so maybe $43k out the door?

This lease deal throws a retail purchase on its head and although a very short period and very limited miles (< 11,000 miles in 13-months), for $86/month, $1,235 down, and a $400 lease end fee if you decide not to purchase it outright at lease end, + TTL, is a pretty good deal. The 760 FICO score may be a hurdle for some but 760 is actually close to average.

All told, a 24 Hyundai Ioniq RWD SEL trim lease from this dealership in California would cost you ~ $3,500 to cover the TTL, $1,118 for the monthly lease, + $1,235 down, and $400 at lease end for a total of $6,253 for 13-months of driving limited miles or $0.56/mile not incl. any charging costs. I did not see that any EA DCFC was included in this deal, so I suspect you are on your own with this. If the residual lease buyout is reasonable - < $30k, you would be purchasing this as your own in just 13-months for $36k or less all in.

Remember that the SEL RWD/AWD trims includes the larger 77.4 kWh pack offering owners an EPA rated 303/260 miles of range and the fastest charging outside of the all-new Audi e-tron GT's I wrote about yesterday or the massively fast 1st and especially second gen Taycan. 18-minutes on an EA 350 KW and just 21-minuutes on an EA 150 as shown below. Lucid talks a good game but their vehicles charge profiles fall off so quickly as to make their owners actual time spent at a DCFC longer than any Ioniq owner with the larger pack would experience.

    18-minutes on an EA 350 KW from 10 - 80% SOC.

21-minutes on an EA 150 KW from 5 to 80%. <-- This is even more impressive! ;)

For 2024, the Ioniq 5 received a Digital Rearview Mirror on the Limited trim - this deal is on the SEL so it does not apply.

On the Multimedia front, a Wi-Fi hotspot was added to the 24s.

The real upgrades occurred on the safety features. For the 2024 MY, the Ioniq received rear side airbags, rear outboard seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters.

Steering wheel haptic feedback was added to both Lane Keeping Assist and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.
