The new, all-electric, 2025 Porsche Macan EV Trim Pricing
    • Macan EV - $75,300
    • Macan 4 EV - $78,800
    • Macan 4S EV - $84,900
    • Macan Turbo EV - $105,300
Since 2014, Porsche has delivered more than 850,000 ICE equipped Macan SUVs worldwide. Just a decade later, the brands all-electric push has come to fruition with a second gen in all-electric form. And this one provides some class leading attributes few would have expected.

The Macan 4/Turbo produces up to 402/630 hp with maximum torque of 479/883 lb.-ft. respectively. Not only does this power output provide blistering acceleration - Macan 4 and Turbo’s 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 sec and 3.1 seconds respectively, their top track speeds of 136 and 161 mph are beyond reproach. Another feature you rarely see in an EV launch. The Macan EV can tow up to 4,400 lbs.

2025 Porsche Macan EV Exterior Design

The EV shares almost nothing with its gas fueled counterpart but arrives with a new, slick exterior appearance. Short overhangs, a longer wheelbase (113.9”), a shallow hood pitch, and the Porsche brand pronounced fender’s give the entry level SUV the look of speed whether parked or moving at warp.

The headlamps consist of a flat upper light unit with four-point DRLs embedded in the fenders and main headlamps with an optional LED Matrix Design positioned slightly lower in the front end. Frameless doors and those pronounced shoulders make this SUV a standout in no uncertain terms.

A total of eight different wheel designs including aerodynamically optimized 20” and optional 22” wheels with staggered size tire fitment finish off the wheels/tire combination.

There are 13 standard and 59 special colors to customize as owners wish.

    2025 Porsche Macan EV Aerodynamics

Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) offer a drag coefficient of as low as 0.25 on the Macan Turbo, one of the most streamlined SUVs on the market. The system includes a speed adaptive rear spoiler, active intake cooling flaps, air curtains below the headlight module, and a fully sealed underbody combine to clean up air flow.

2025 Porsche Macan EV Interior Design

The new Macan EV includes up to 18 cu. ft. behind the rear seats and the ‘frunk’ with 2.9 cu. ft of cargo volume up front. With the rear seats folded down, 46.5 cu. ft. is opened. Like many modern CUV/SUVs, the tailgate can be opened with a foot gesture and the frunk with a swipe gesture.

The driver and front passenger sit ~ an inch lower than before.

The interior is built around an integrated black panel with large windows providing the open feel of the SUV. The Turbo comes standard with a leather package that features accent strips in the doors. In addition, Turbonite is used as a contrasting color for the thread on the steering wheel, center console, upper part of the gearshift and door panels, armrest, and inner door handles.

An LED light strip is integrated into the trim strip of the cockpit and doors and acts as both ambient and communication lighting.

The Macan is equipped with up to three screens, including the free-standing 12.6” curved instrument cluster and 10.9” central display. The passenger can view information, adjust settings on the infotainment system or stream video content while the car is being driven via their own optional 10.9” display.

The next gen infotainment system is based on Android Automotive OS. In the new Porsche App Center, passengers can access popular apps from third-party providers and install them directly in the new Macan.

    2025 Porsche Macan EV Drivetrain

800V charging architecture and innovative 400V bank charging are std. Porsche uses permanently excited synchronous electric motors (PSM) and silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor materials in the pulse inverter on the rear axle.

The electric motors draw their energy from a 100-kWh gross/94.4-kWh useable Li-Ion pack configured within a skateboard configuration. What is really kick @$$ is the all-new Macan EV arrives with a DC charging capacity of up to 270 kW allowing a 10 to 80 percent SOC charge in just under 21 minutes. On a 400V, 250 KW peak, DCFC’ers, the pack is effectively split into two batteries, each with a rated voltage of 400V and up to 135 kW. AC charging at up to 11 kW at home is also std.

Whenever route navigation is active, the Porsche Charging Planner helps you travel in a relaxed fashion without wasting time on longer treks. First, the navigation system calculates the quickest or shortest route using real-time traffic information. If the battery SOC is not sufficient for arrival at the destination at current consumption levels, the Charge Planner automatically plans the necessary charging stops along the route. The system also “battery preconditions” in advance of the DCFCing stop.

The AWDs two motors can react to wheelspin in under 10 milliseconds. In addition, the AWD distribution is governed via Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), an electronically controlled differential lock on the rear axle.

A lightweight fiberglass composite underbody guard protects the high voltage battery from mechanical damage.

If an overvoltage, short-circuit, or crash (air bag activation) is detected, the high-voltage system is automatically switched off and can no longer be started.

With lighter braking, up to an unheard of 240 kW can be regenerated depending on brake pedal pressure. At maximum effort just before the hydraulic mechanicals are brought to bear, up to 98 percent of the total braking energy can be recovered in everyday use.

The Macan EV can also coast. If the driver eases off the accelerator pedal but does not actively brake, the drive unit is switched off or, at higher speeds, put into zero-torque-control mode. This slows down the dissipation of kinetic energy and the car coasts as far as possible without energy input. Alternatively, the driver can activate thrust regeneration which simulates engine braking.

    2025 Porsche Macan EV Chassis

All Macan EVs in the U.S. include standard air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping control. PASM includes dampers with two-valve technology.

Aluminum double-wishbone front suspension with a separate control arm level supports the Macan’s chassis, which enhances responsiveness, steering precision and directional stability thanks to its kinematics and elastokinematics. The Macan Turbo also features a high-performance rear end setup. The electric motor has been rotated around the vehicle’s transverse axis and therefore positioned further to the rear. This enables the desired rear biased weight balance of 48 percent in the front and 52 percent at the back. In the Macan 4, the drive unit is mounted within the chassis subframe, while the Turbo’s drive unit is attached directly to the body via four points. The separate connection of the axle and electric motor enables the engine and suspension mounts to be tuned separately to the respective optimal configuration. The body in the Macan also offers space for a rear axle steering system and the PTV Plus rear differential lock, which is standard in the Turbo.

For the first time, the Macan can be ordered with optional maximum steering angle offset five-degree rear-axle steering system enabling a compact turning circle of 36.4 feet and improved stability at higher speeds.

    2025 Porsche Macan EV Safety

The new Macan EV offers a wide range of assistance systems. Adaptive cruise control is standard.

Porsche InnoDrive includes Active Lane Keeping support with predictive longitudinal control and continuous steering interventions to maintain lane, speed, and distances. Speed, acceleration, deceleration, and cornering speeds adapt to the route and drive modes. The system also reacts proactively to speed limits, corners, roundabouts, right-of-way rules and bottlenecks. On well-developed country roads and highways, the system takes over lane keeping in traffic jams with continual steering interventions. The system automatically detects lane markings and vehicles ahead in its own lane and the adjacent lane.

A Surround View including Active Parking Support (standard on Macan Turbo) supports the driver when parking and maneuvering. The driver can start the search for a parking space via the PCM. The system recognizes parallel and perpendicular parking spaces using ultrasonic sensors. As soon as a suitable space has been found, the driver can start the automatic parking process via the PCM. The intelligent parking assistant takes over steering, accelerating, and braking during the parking process and automatically parks the vehicle in and out of parallel parking spaces. The Surround View function uses four individual cameras to calculate a virtual top view of the Macan, which is displayed in real time in the PCM.

2025 Porsche Macan EV Early Conclusions

Driving a Porsche, no matter its footprint, configuration, or intent, brings out track like performance even with the ordinary and mundane drives most complete daily. I am expecting astonishing acceleration, breathtaking higher speed braking performance, and Porsche's damn near patentable handling prowess. What really intrigues me however is the all-new Macan EV's range and world class charging capability. 308-miles from the AWD based Macan 4 and that Taycan like, 270 KW peak charging cap across an even wider charging profile curve. At least that is what Porsche has told me in recent conversations. I guess the next thing to do is ask Porsche if I can take one out on a lengthy drive and charge it from 5 to 80% on a Mercedes/ChargePoint 400 KW DCFC, a GM Energy/EVGo 350 KW DCFC, an Electrify America (EA) V4 (latest) 350 KW DCFC, a legacy EA 150 KW DCFC, and even a Tesla Magic Dock equipped 250 KW SuperCharger for good measure. I will let you know how that ask goes shortly. ;)
