Kicking off this month with a stellar commute :

    33.4 miles, fcd = 58.4 MPG

Okay, it was 70 deg F and a tailwind of 18 mph.
Hoping to get home on this tank, or at least to my Shell in
    Naperville. 18 miles remaining.

Edit : the trip home was 48.5 MPG

Wind WNW 9. Yes, the wind reversed itself, as it is allowed to do. Hopefully
it will help me on the way home.

This morning, 18.2 miles at 63.0mpg on the fcd at a crazy warm 68F (20C) and 2mph NNE wind not worth mentioning. I will be fondly remembering the warm morning drive around mid January when driving the same route in ice and sleet.

67F this morning (not quite 20C for the Centigrade crowd) and slight NE wind. They're saying record warmth today but the record for the area is only 72. 18.2 miles driven at 61.1mpg on the fcd.
I was up late watching the election hysteria so I made sure I got up early on the first ring of the alarm clock. Leaving a bit earlier meant a bit less traffic. Either it was the earlier departure or perhaps it was the usual cluster of commuters collectively jumped out their windows last night as races were being called.

I'm not sure, but I think my girlfriend voted for Trump.
    And in a swing state.
    I'm disappointed, hurt, angry.

    Michigan, I believe. Right?
It always amazes me how intense reactions are to elections. That's what prompted the earlier supposition that people were jumping out of windows. In this 50/50 country, half the people today are dancing in the office hallways and the other half are slumped and scowling at the desk. And yet life goes on.
I'm waiting to see the effect on auto industry and regulations governing transportation and energy. More efficient cars at lower cost and cheaper gas will help commuters.

Yes, Michigan. We'll get to the bottom of this next time we talk.
It's probably a talk I should have had with her when we first "connected"
    in Jan 23.
