Holy hell, this one makes CyberTruck owners look foolish and places Lightning buyers in a quandary. Wayne Gerdes – CleanMPG – Oct. 7, 2024 2025 Chevrolet Silverado LT BEV GM released the full details on EPA rated range and retail pricing for the entire Silverado EV lineup. I think this will bury the F-150 Lightning given the huge range and charging speed advantage. Let us see how it sells vs the far less capable Tesla CT. The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV launches later this year in three distinct trims with more range, content, and price options for retail and commercial customers. 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV Lineup Work Truck - $57,095 Extended Range- $69,495 Max Range - $77,795 LT Extended Range - $75,195 Extended Range with LT Premium Package - $81,995 RST - $89,395 Max Range - $97,895 (MSRP includes $2,095 D&H) and select models may qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit. Introducing Silverado EV LT The LT trim is available on the Silverado EV for the first time. Both the LT with standard content and with the LT Premium Package are priced so eligible customers may qualify for the federal tax credit. The LT offers the following standard content: 350 kW DC public fast charging Standard 18-inch aluminum wheels, with accessory 22-inch wheels available later in the model year Unique lower front fascia and uplevel exterior lighting, including illuminated front gold bowtie Standard 17.7-inch-diagonal center infotainment screen paired with 11 inch-diagonal driver informational center 12,500 lb towing5 capacity and 1,800 lb payload Up to 765 lb-ft torque and 645 horsepower with Wide Open Watts mode Available in six exterior colors, including trim-exclusive Blue Smoke Metallic Standard Multi-Flex Tailgate A Premium Package is available later in the model year and adds the following features: An optional Multi-Flex Midgate offers up to 10 feet and 10 inches of load floor when paired with the standard Multi-Flex Tailgate plus Super Cruise, and 22-inch alloys. The Work Truck sets a new range standard: With 492 miles of range available on the Max Range Silverado EV Work Truck, the range leader in electric trucks can now go even further. The Work Truck continues to be available to commercial customers and will launch with a starting MSRP of $69,4952 for the extended range battery pack, offering 422 miles of range. More choices will be available for Work Truck – including a new Slate Gray exterior color. More range available on RST… The Silverado EV RST will be available with two different battery pack options and offers a max range of 460 miles. The RST is available in six exterior colors, including trim-exclusive Zephyr Blue Matte Metallic. Coming later this year… Chevrolet expects to ship 2025 Silverado EV WT, LT and RST to customers before the year end. Later in the model year, a Work Truck with the standard range battery pack will join the lineup for fleet and retail customers and will be available with a starting MSRP of $57,0952. The EPA-estimated range will be available closer to that truck’s launch. The Silverado EV is assembled with domestically and globally-sourced parts at Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan — the launching pad for GM's multi-brand all-EV strategy. GM is driving the future of transportation, leveraging advanced technology to build safer, smarter, and lower emission cars, trucks, and SUVs. GM’s Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC brands offer a broad portfolio of innovative gasoline-powered vehicles and the industry’s widest range of EVs, as we move to an all-electric future. 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Specs Efficiency - Driving Range (EPA-estimated) 492 miles (WT Max Range) 422 miles (WT Extended Range) 408 miles (LT) 390 miles (LT with Premium Package) 390 miles (RST 2SP) 460 miles (RST 3SP) Battery System Type: Rechargeable energy storage system comprising multiple linked modules Battery chemistry: GM Ultium Cells Warranty: 8 years/100,000 miles of battery and electric components coverage Electric Drive Type: Performance Torque Vectoring Dual Motor 4WD (Electronic 4WD) Motor: 2 motors (1 front & 1 rear electric drive unit) Power (hp): 760 (RST 3SP), 645 (LT, RST 2SP), 510 (WT 5WT, WT 8WT) Torque (lb.-ft./Nm): 785/1064 (RST), 765/1037 (LT), 580/834 (WT 5WT, WT 8WT) Chassis and Suspension Suspension: Adaptive Air Ride F&R with adjustable ride height (RST) 4-wheel independent suspension (WT and LT) Steering Type: Column-mounted EPS Turning Circle (ft./m): 42.16/12.85 (RST with 4-wheel steering) Brake Type: 17” front and rear sliding caliper disc w/ regenerative capability. 4-wheel disc and 4-wheel ABS Brake Rotor Size (in./mm): F/R 368.6mm (14.5”)/345mm (13.5”) Wheel Size: 24-inch (RST – standard), 22-inch (LT – available), 18-inch (LT, WT - standard) Tire Size: LT275/50R24, all-season (RST) -- LT265/70R18, all-season (WT) Charging Available DC fast charging up to 350 kW w/ GM-est. 100 miles in 10 minutes Level 2: 240 V up to 19.2kW/80 amps w/ (PowerShift or Powerup+ Charger) 34 mph charging Charging rate varies based on output of the charge unit, vehicle settings and outside temperature. SOB that charges quick! Wayne
Yes, the rich will be able to extract energy 3 times faster than their fair share of electricity, so they can more readily “help” reach the limits of the Electric Grid. & draining energy at 300KWs will make sure that the rich are NOT inconveniencing themselves & wasting their time. The rich can drive around………with only 1 person & no cargo in their vehicles. What the rich did for oil energy, the rich can now do for electricity, only this time they can really find the limits of the Grid easily. The rich will also increase their already triple energy consumption by another 3 times just to be able to say they are REALLY wasting energy. The rich waste, while the poor get wasted.
I’m actually in disbelief. I’m going to have to sleep on all of this and re-read tomorrow, because right now it seems like I’m already dreaming. Crazy specs and price.
The rich will plug their truck in and every other house within a 2 block radius will go dark. They're a dream for Duke Energy shareholders though. Cha Ching!
