At any rate, fairly calm. The large flags did not move. This tank will finish over 50, but not by much.

 

I was on the freeway in the right slightly damp slow lane with the 2008 Hyundai Accent. A semi with trailer without using his turn signal violated my lane & space. With a slight turn to the right & slamming on my brakes, the Accent decelerated quickly, clearing space for the semi&trailer, without colliding.

 

Today it is 40 deg F in Naperville, 41 in Elk Grove.
But no frost on my windshield this morning ! I had frost both
Wednesday and Thursday.

Bought fuel in Elk Grove this morning. This is in Cook County.
Typically, everything including gasoline is more expensive here, due to higher taxes.
But yesterday ( and today ) it was $3.389. The DuPage County stations near me are around $3.599.

Time to refuel this morning. Last fill was on 9/24. Stuffed with 9.236 gallons that cost only 2.599 with Stop-n-Schnapps earnings. Overall tank average was 63.51mpg
The trip the office, at a balmy 54F and 5mph WNW winds, was 18.4 miles at 61.9mpg. Fairly typical for a Monday morning.

I will be heading over after work to donate platelets, so the today's commute will be far enough to click the odometer over 22k miles.

 

My last fill in the Elantra was on September 3.

Can't donate platelets anymore. Not sure why, but they had to abort the procedure
and send me home the last two times.

 

Dogs (& cats) RULE. DAUGHTERS, too.

Trip home last night, at a balmy 66F and enough traffic to keep the EV distances up, ended at over 75mpg on the fcd. The tank at 69.3 tells you the trip in earlier that day was low 60s.

The odometer rolled over 22000 a few minutes from the house.

This morning - Tue 10/22 - a little cooler and still very little wind, ended at 60.3mpg over the usual 18.2 miles.

 

Left work yesterday at 2:30, stopped at Planet Fitness and Aldi.
Left home this morning at 4:01.

65.4 miles, fcd = 52.0 MPG

 

October starts October 1st. But Cleanmpg is so clean it went thru a time warp, & October didn’t start till October 3.

Colder air finally arriving. 46F and NNE wind (headwind) at 5mph. Arrived after 18.2 miles at 59.4mpg fcd.
Traffic didn't seem as bad as usual. It seemed as if most people on the road had a valid drivers license.

 

Above freezing here with sprinkles overnight, but first snow just 15 miles north where I used to live near the NH border in MA.

Still not driving much other than the celebratory White Mountains trip beginning of the month.
