2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid

    Possibly a $31,995 MSRP to start + $1,095 D&H.

The 11th gen 2025 Honda Civic refresh brings about a new model we have been speculating about for over 6-months now. Namely that it would include the Accord’s award-winning hybrid drivetrain as evidenced by the European Civic Hybrid available since 2022. Today, Honda revealed that it will indeed provide the 50 mpg combines, 200 HP and 232 lb-ft of torque, atkinsonized, 2.0L I4 hybrid that just so happened to be 41% thermally efficient, for buyers of the upcoming newly refreshed Civic. ;)

The new Civic hybrid will also offer four user selectable levels of regenerative braking via paddles on the wheel.

The Sport and Sport Touring Hybrid trims – the only two available unfortunately, will arrive with standard Active Noise Control and wheel resonators on the Sport Touring hybrid. On the negative side of the ledger, the hybrids include a linear shift control design that mimics a conventional drivetrain shifting gears under acceleration. Why this is necessary is anyone’s guess.

The more affordable base LX and Sport trims will unfortunately be driven by the same, not so efficient 2.0L non-hybrid I4 from the previous models.

2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Exterior and Interior Design Upgrades

The exterior adds a new front fascia, grille, body colored headlamp surrounds, front lower spoiler and oversized black 18” alloys. A machine-finished 18” wheel resides on the Sport Touring Hybrid.

Four new colors including Solar Silver Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, Blue Lagoon Pearl (exclusive to Civic sedan) and Sand Dune Pearl (exclusive to Civic hatchback) are new for 2025.

2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Sport Touring Interior

Arguably the best looking and laid out interior in the entire compact class.

Inside, the Civic Sport hybrid is now available with a gray interior and includes front USB-C ports, a moonroof, heated front seats and dual zone auto climate.

The Sport Touring Hybrid adds leather, 12-speaker Bose audio, a larger 9-inch touchscreen – vs the Sport Hybrid’s 8”, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless smartphone charger and the Civic's first integration of Google OS with a complimentary 3-year unlimited data plan.

    2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Safety

The 11th-generation Civic includes Honda's proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure designed to help protect occupants in a wide variety of frontal collisions, along with advanced supplemental restraint systems. The 2022, 23, and 24 Civic are IIHS Top Safety Picks did not meet the IIHS Top Safety Pick + rating requirements of its main competitor, the 5th gen, 2023 and 2024 Toyota Prius. I will go on the record that Honda has improved the moderate frontal and side crash test safety in order to qualify for the Safety Pick + rating.

The 2025 Civic's driver's airbag uses a donut-shaped structure to cradle the head to reduce rotation. The passenger-side front airbag uses a three-chamber design with the two outer chambers designed to achieve a similar result. All Civic models also feature pretensioning front seatbelts, and front, side, knee and side-curtain airbags.

The Civic hybrid is equipped with the Honda Sensing suite including Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Pedestrian Detection; Forward Collision Warning; Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS); and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

The Sport Hybrid sedan “should” arrive with a MSRP of $31,995 + $1,095 D&H while the Sport Touring Hybrid sedan “could” cost upwards of $35,995 + the same $1,095 D&H.

2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatch

Not a bad looking color. ;)

Honda said the Canadian built sedan will be available as early as June – a few months past the previously announced release date, while the U.S. built hatch will arrive a few months afterwards. The new hybrids will represent as much as 40% of Civic sales in the U.S. and 60% in Canada.

Ah.....To save gasoline over old standard cars, the high tech jazzy Honda may only cost two of our 2016 manual Elantras plus an extra $10,395 taken out of our bank account. We would actually need multiple bank accounts.

But, that is a pretty blue. Maybe I can find a child who will draw a pretty blue car on a piece of paper, that I can carry around with me. Fifty years ago, Crayola had a similar blue color crayon.
One nicety of the Honda......its gas cap is in the same place as our 2013 AND 2016 Elantras. No new thing to remember. I hate remembering new things.

    Hi Litesong:
If the new Civic is like many of the current Honda lineup. it will not have a gas cap either.

Knowing Honda and their strong "comittment" to hybrids , this car will be discontinued
one week after the first delivery to dealerships. Better get your order in now !
    What's a "conventional" drivetrain ?

    Hi All:

Honda released the 2025 Civic Hybrid Pricing and EPA. What is missing from my previous speculation is a base LX Hybrid trim with the LXs 16” wheel and tire combination. And when I mention an LX, the 1.5L conventionally powered LX vs the same drivetrain Sport trim adds 1 mpg city, 2 mpg highway, and 2 mpg combined due to those smaller and lighter weight wheels and tires. All because of a product planner’s push for standard 18” alloys on the Sport and Sport Touring Hybrid trims.

    Trim - MSRP incl. $1,095 D&H - EPA Mileage Rating (City/Hwy/Combined)

    Sport Hybrid - $29,845 - 50/47/49 mpgUS
    Sport Touring Hybrid - $32,845 50/47/49 mpgUS

    2025 Honda Civic Sport Hybrid

June 12, 2024 -- The Canadian built and refreshed 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan is now available at Honda dealerships nationwide. The lineup includes minor styling changes and of course the new to the Civic lineup, an award winning and powerful two motor hybrid-electric drivetrain. Honda now expects the hybrid to account for 40% of its total Civic sales, down from the previous 50% estimate.

The Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid use the same 2.0L two motor hybrid drivetrain as that found in the Accord and CR-V. With 200 hp and 232 lb.-ft of torque (total output), they're not only powerful, but owners are also provided a small midsize with a 50/47/49 mpgUS city/highway/combined rating.

The two Hybrid trims provide the lowest NVH levels in the Civic lineup thanks to a noise reduction package that includes Active Noise Control and wheel resonators in the Sport Touring hybrid. The Civic hybrid uses a specially developed tire which I have no details on as of yet.

The refreshed and made in the U.S. Civic Hatch hybrid will arrive at dealers later this summer.

Outside, the 2025 Civic hybrid includes a new front fascia and grille, new darker taillights, a distinct body colored headlamp garnish, new lower front spoiler, dark trim, and black 18” alloys.

Inside, the Sport Hybrid includes four USB-C ports, a moonroof, heated front seats and dual zone climate controls.

The top-of-the-line Sport Touring Hybrid adds native Google Assistant, Google Maps, and a complimentary 3-year unlimited data plan.

The Sport Touring Hybrid adds leather seating, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, a larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a Qi wireless smartphone charger.

The two-motor hybrid-electric power unit and 2.0L Atkinsonized I4 for the Accord hybrid, CR-V hybrid, and now Civic hybrid are entirely built in Ohio.

Apparently, people like big wheels/tires. They keep buying 'em.

Sometimes, there's little choice in the wheel size. The rest of the car's attributes dictate the car choice. e.g. unless you spend extra ($$) as I did, you cannot remedy the oversize wheel situation... I did a very unusual -3" conversion going from asymmetric 20" to 17" square.

    Hi All:

While the wheel size is being market driven, not efficiency driven, I wish we could do something about it. But we cannot so there is no sense in wishing. What has me a little flummoxed is the lack of follow up from the first drive reviews. The Civic usually causes an uproar when a new gen or model is released. Besides the few first drive accounts, the all-new to the U.S., 2025 Civic Hybrid's follow through is generating very little buzz for some reason? Could it be the higher than expected upfront pricing? Honda reduced the forecast percentage of Civic Hybrid sales from 50 to 40% of the total U.S. Civic sales as the hybrid was released. I wonder what they know?

Oddly, I cannot find *any* inventory!

Add: found 18 labeled as Civic but with fuel type hybrid. Many were fake vin on order. Those with real vins had vins under 100.
