Toyota sold 565,098 vehicles in Q1 of 2024, up 20.3 percent over the 469,558 sold in the same quarter of last year. The sales highlight is not just the 20.3% sales rise but the fact that 206,850 of the 565,098 vehicles were electrified HEVs, PHEVs, or BEVs. This is 36.6 percent of total sales volume!
    Toyota Q1 2024 Highlights

First quarter sales of electrified vehicles reached 206,850 vehicles, up an incredible 74.1 percent.

The Toyota Prius, Prius Prime, Camry HEV, Crown and RAV4 HEV all posted triple-digit gains in Q1

The all-hybrid Sienna sales were up 53.2 percent in Q1.

On the Lexus side of the fence, Q1 electrified vehicle sales reached 29,072, up 61.1 percent over Q1 of 2023.

The ES HEV, NX HEV, NX PHEV, RX HEV and LS HEV all posted strong double-digit gains in Q1.

    Meet the all-new, 9th gen, 2025 (HEV-only) Toyota Camry

The all-new 2025 Toyota Camry builds on that success of its predecessors but this time, in a Hybrid only offering surrounded by a new exterior, new and more modern interior, plus the brands latest safety and infotainment equipment.

The 2025 Toyota Camry includes the 5th gen Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5) with an updated atkinsonized 2.5L I4 offering 225 net combined hp for the FWD models. Along with the power upgrade, the LE trim offers a 51 MPG rating. Yeah, I like that too!

The 2025 Toyota Camry will be available for the first time with an Electronic AWD solution on all four trims: LE, SE, XLE and XSE.

Another highlight is that the base LE trim arrives with a starting MSRP of $28,400, $400 less than the outgoing 24 LE Trimmed hybrid while offering much more advanced hardware and software.

Underpinning the new 25 Camry is a retuned MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension. The SE, XLE, and XSE trims have new shock absorbers and an even larger diameter front stabilizer bar.

Like all of Toyota’s Hybrids, the all-new Camry includes a NORMAL, ECO and SPORT driving mode.

    2025 Toyota Camry Exterior Design

The ninth-generation Camry includes a new hammerhead front face while all trims now include LED headlamps and DRLs.

The most efficient trim (LE) arrives with std. 16” alloys like all the trims should be equipped with. The XLE/SE are only available with the 10% fuel robbing 18s and the XSE receives the 19” alloys.

The XLE includes chrome Day light opening (DLO) surrounds and a chrome-finished Camry badge.

The SE and XSE trims add sport-mesh front grilles, side sport rockers and black finishes. Functional front side air ducts, canards, rear spoiler and a rear diffuser improve aerodynamics. The Camry badge is gloss black on both SE trims.

    2025 Toyota Camry Interior Design

The SE comes with SofTex seats with white accents while the XSE adds a standard leather-trimmed ones with artistic “shooting blade” patterned perforations found on both the side door trim and seating surfaces. Both the SE and XSE trims come equipped with aluminum sport pedals and a leather-wrapped wheel with what I deem useless paddle shifters plus a leather-wrapped shift knob.

The LE features a pattern woven fabric interior. The XLE is the first Camry to feature a combination of leather and Dinamica microfiber-trim. A quilted pattern with the Dinamica trim can also be found on the front door panels and dashboard.

Toyota changed the shape and density of the seat cushion plus thankfully increased the bottom cushion length. The headrest was also softened and moved rearward. Heated front seats come standard on the XLE and XSE and are optional on the LE and SE grades. Front ventilated seats are available on the XLE/XSE trims while a heated steering wheel and 8-way power driver and 8-way power passenger seats are standard.

The XLE and XSE trims also include front-side acoustic laminated glass to help reduce wind noise and an available power tilt and slide panoramic roof with a power-retractable sunshade.

The XLE also offers an available driver’s memory seat, memory side view mirrors, and automatic rain-sensing wipers.

A 7” digital gauge cluster is standard on the LE and SE, while the XLE/XSE includes a 12.3” digital gauge cluster. The XLE and XSE can be equipped with a 10” Head-Up Display (HUD). I have found HUDs to be gimmicky, but many others differ with this assessment.

The Infotainment system includes an 8” touchscreen display or an available 12.3” screen. All trims include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and pairs well with the standard Qi wireless charging pad. Five USB ports, with three in the front (2 USB-C and 1 USB-A media port) and two in the rear (1 USB-C and 1 USB-A) are standard on all trims.

A nine speaker JBL Premium Audio system is available on the XLE and XSE trims.

    2025 Toyota Camry Safety

The 2025 Toyota Camry comes standard with Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Safe Exit Alert.

Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0 safety suite is also standard and includes:
    • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
    • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
    • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
    • Lane Tracing Assist: Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
    • Road Sign Assist
    • Automatic High Beams (AHB)
    • Proactive Driving Assist (PDA)
The XLE and XSE grades can be equipped with a Premium Plus Package which includes:
    • Traffic Jam Assist
    • Front Cross-Traffic Alert
    • Lane Change Assist
    • Panoramic View Monitor
    • Front and Rear Parking Assist with Auto Braking

I assume ventilated seats mean cooled? The ones I have on my 2022 are really good. My Camry is my daily, due partially to the cooled seats! Both the seats and AC are better than any car I have ever had. Even my Audi is not as good as my Camry.

I got to the bottom of it when I talked to a salesman after a test drive in a Q5E. It seems the distinction is unless a seat is designated as cooled it only has fans to suck the air away. Cooled seats are killer after the car has been baking in the hot summer sun. I still can't figure why the make cars for people concerned about fuel efficiency with black/dark seats.
