5:50AM.....Altho our early morning 55degF temps are higher than Edwin's, we're not expected to get higher than 61degF today, because of clouds & increasing rain chances.
PS...6:25AM....Only 12% chance of rain right now......but light rain is coming down already.

    From Wednesday, 5-15-24:
5-17-24: Ha ha ha......Yes, from the beginning of this week, rain was predicted to start AND daily never came. Finally on 2 occasions, some rain occurred on Thursday, but most of the day was OK to nice. Didn't even need to carry an umbrella to the Senior Center. Today, very low single digit chances of rain & higher chances of rain predicted for Saturday tomorrow. I'd say predictions were really lame this week.

PS....A couple hours later, the rain chance has increased to 49%. Problem is, blue sky is covering our area all the way to & west of the west ridge. Again, another lame prediction.

Yeah, I get excited over free electric charges, even when they aren't my own.
But medical examinations, x-rays, & worse, tell us what we really need in our lives & what we need to hope for.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

5-18-24, 10AM, 50degF....Rain chance is rain, but while walking, after dropping the Elantra at the mechanic's for an oil change, I felt a tiny bit of moisture falling on my face. So maybe, I'll say the prediction is almost accurate. Day will stay chilly, NOT getting to the mid-50degF. Tomorrow, rain chance is in the single digits & may get to above 60degF. My back is a bit quirky the last few days. I'm going to have a lay-down now.

5-18-24: Well....the qualifications for tomorrow's Italian Formula 1 race are in! This time BOTH the Mclaren entries came in less than one tenth of a second behind the first qualifier, Max Verstappen. Might be a fine Formula 1 race tomorrow....or accidents. It'll be tough for the McLarens tho, since I think Verstappen has had at least 2 score of starts at the front, now eight in a row!

PS.....ALL ENTRIES of FIVE two man race teams are in the first 11 qualifying positions AND within 1 qualifying second of each other!
PS....Max won. From the beginning of the race, Max led & Norris was 2 seconds behind by quarter of the race, which extended to 5 seconds by a 3rd of the race. More seconds as the race progressed. At one point, Verstappen complained to his pit, that the car wasn't handling right. Late in the race, Verstappen heavily bounced over curb dots. Norris began gaining on Max. At the very end of the race, Lando got inside one second, but Max crossed the line, winning the race.
The Italian crowd was happy that Ferrari, for the first time in a long time, was able to make the podium in third place at the Italian Grand Prix.

Prediction for today is accurate, even down to the temperature. Lots of puffy white clouds & some blue sky.

PS, 3:10PM....Whoa, sometime during the day, the rain chance lifted to 69%....AND it is raining. Surprise, surprise.

Tuesday, 5-21-24, 7:10AM, 49degF....Tho rain chance now is 59%, its not raining yet, despite flat middle gray clouds. I see a squirrel in the parking lot, probably looking for food before the rain comes. With the binoculars I do see things falling outside. It isn't rain, but the Cottonwood fuzzies. My increasing allergies make me cough more. Tho the morning is warmer than yesterday's morning, high temp today is predicted NOT to be more than 52degF. Seems that the predicted lower temperature is coming on sooner.

The Osprey are flying a lot, with their Mama & Papa duties at the Tower. Ohh, two Crows are chasing one of the Osprey.....& they mean it. Do the Crows have a nest nearby, like the Osprey?
I think someone put bread out for the Crows. Looks like white bread tho.

As for my eating, I've always liked Campbell's condensed soups, thinking them superior to other generic soups. NOT as good as the more expensive "specialty" soups tho. I must say tho, that for 70 years, I've never had a bad can of Campbell's soup. That is extraordinary! To Campbell's Tomato Soup(& other soups), I've recently found that adding a can of diced Tomatoes to the Campbell's really makes for an improvement! Of course, adding pepper & Italian Seasoning(or Parsley) touches the Soup up well, also.

PS, 7:50AM...Rain chance has escalated to 71% (soon to 88%). I do see very light rain coming down now. Yes, the dry pavement is no longer dry.

PS 1, 1:05PM....With my back acting up & rain, I took the Elantra to the Senior Center. Hey, did I say I love the Elantra? Short walk to the library & used the "new" used umbrella. Then back to the SC for a good lunch....which means my heart doctor would scold me.
Back at the apt & we'll see how long the rain lasts. Think I'll take something for my back. Again my doctor would scold me. But, I've really eliminated all my previous medications before my heart attack. Oh.....I'll put some of my topical pain killers on my back. There we go.

PS II, 2:45PM.....Looks like the rain will last into tomorrow.

    My trip home yesterday :
Car thermometer read 92 deg F.
    Wind S 20 (
    31.7 miles , fcd = 48.0 MPG

    Today , 63 deg F in Naperville , 65 in Elk Grove.

    Wind SW 16

    33.3 miles , fcd = 56.7 MPG.

Started with 50 miles range, ended up with 25 miles.
The gas station I'd like to use in Naperville is about 25 miles from work.
I may have to drive on zero miles remaining for a few miles.

5-22-24, 8:30AM, 50degF.....Rain did quit during the night & chances presently in the teens & reducing during the day. Still, high temps will not get above 59degF.
Been using a topical on my bad back. Maybe the topical will not affect my heart medications as much as my past arthritis medications, which my heart doctor told me NOT to take anymore. Whether the topical works or not, my back seems to be improving. I'll still take the Elantra to Senior Center today.
Eating potatoes WITHOUT any toppings this morning. Not supposed to take dairy, so no butter or sour cream.
