Excellent that your Mom is bouncing(?) back! Hope she will be back home soon.

Tho I hope to use 11kW chargers, there are many 7kW chargers I will use in places I want to be for shopping, walking & sightseeing. 7kW is the same as seven 1000Watt electric heaters, is NOT slow & is a lot of electricity. Its marvelous that EV cars are so efficient, that lots of places find it worth offering FREE electricity to attract people to their places of business. I will use 7kW chargers as my nearly only source of transportation. As I state, walking is my transportation now. Presently, I have a 700Watt spot heater warming me in the apt, with the more powerful heaters turned off. & now I have that 700Watt heater off, because I will move to another part of the apt.

You have Whitby, we have Whidbey Island. Them there British people are all over the place!

    Thanks litesong, fingers crossed.
I looked your island up, very nice - I didn’t realise it was named after Joseph Whidbey, master of HMS Discovery!

Yeah, the deviousness of the devilish British was beyond measure....like americans & other "nationalities" who had explosives, guns & weaponry that Native Tribes didn't have. Captains had been ordered to approach Native Tribes with utmost consideration & "peacefulness". In my books, charts & old gatherings, captains would send dories to different island groups & areas. One dory of Englishmen, encountering Native Tribes (ancestors in my own Tribe), were conciliatory & friendly, making exchanges of fair goods. HOWEVER, on the other side of the long island was another dory of Englishmen. Raising & planting the English flag(out of sight of Native Tribes), the dory boatmen claimed the island for England, in effect, placing my ancestor Native Tribes in bondage to the King of England. Did I say, devious....& devilish? Yes, I did say devious & devilish. The English were sick & lustful, indeed!

Sweet day today & for the next two days! Chilling but above freezing tomorrow morning, warming to 62degF in the afternoon. The next morning, cooling to upper 30's & warming to 67degF. Maybe I'll do some driving.

Haven’t needed heat because it was sunny today. Tho it’s been dark over 2 hours & temp has dropped to 41degF, still no need for the 700Watts of heating. Not even wearing socks.

5:30AM…..Down to 33degF. Woke up hours later, after accidentally falling asleep. The thermostat on the $5 garage sale 700W spot heater in the bedroom had actually worked, coming on in the bedroom, as it had cooled last night. I was too warm & turned it off. But I did go & turn the 700W heater on in the living room/kitchen, to see if it would take the chill off.
I remember an old friend who said they used to wake up to their bedroom being too cold as a child. Their glass of water was frozen!

PS, 8:50AM....Whoa! The outside temperature has already risen to 45degF! Looks like the predicted high of 63degF will be obtained. Yes, the spot 700W heater, not only warmed the area around the computer(helps retain heat by directing heat under the computer table), but also took a bit of chill off the rest of the living room. The kitchen was still quite chilly. Sure glad its April. The heater wouldn't have been (& wasn't) enough in early January.
It was an interesting experiment. But, the full 3000W wall heaters would have taken the chill off in 20 minutes, not hours like the spot heater. I am very happy with my spot heaters, but them wall heaters are sweet. That's the reason I call the spot heaters, spot heaters. ha ha

PS, 7PM....Temperature is still 61degF. Tomorrow's predictions are still on course.

From 2 days previously, now low temp prediction is downgraded to mid-30's & high temperature also lowered to 67degF, making up for yesterday's warmer than predicted.

Isn't it fun to drive different cars often? Me, depending on which car, I drive different routes. Altho yeah, Washington state gas prices have savagely curtailed my driving.

The throttle response ( and necessary pressure ) are very different.
The Fit thinks it's a sports car. Luckily, Ican still make an easy start at
    1600-1800 RPM.

Not to mention the brakes are different as well. The HEH uses regenerative braking and there is less pedal travel than in most hydraulic brake systems. And the regen braking can be non-linear because the gearbox is between the electric motor and the front wheels. The downshift during braking is something unique to the design and can slightly change the deceleration rate during more abrupt stopping.

Went to a nearby beach for a dog walk and lunch at a pub :). Called in at a supermarket on the way back and used dog mode as the sun was shining!
Total Miles Driven 10.28, Rated Miles Used 10.76, Efficiency 95.54 %
Dog mode used 0.57 miles of range in 24 minutes but he was comfortable

Elon Musk must have a dog! :):p
Does Dog Mode use more electricity than Camp Mode? If it does, could be more evidence that Musk has a dog!

    4-19-24:
4-20-24, 1:20PM.....Whoa! The predicted high was way off & is presently 75degF! Also out of the blue, by 5PM, rain is likely & by 6PM, the chance is 100%. Mostly blue sky & scattered clouds here, but I do see more concentrated clouds on the horizon which is the western ridge. They may hint the rain clouds are moving in.

PS....Yes, the weather radar shows a narrow squall line of clouds moving this way.
