Last September, Hyundai unveiled its 2024 Kona SUV. The all-new Kona lineup was positioned as an upscale small CUV with the all-electric offering a range of 261 miles. The smaller 48.6 kWh standard battery provides 200 miles of range based on preliminary internal tests. 2024 Kona EV Design Hyundai transitioned from a conventional ICE-to-EV platform development process to an EV-to-ICE development process, resulting in an EV-centric exterior that accentuates the Kona’s unique look with an unexpected combination of sleek and rugged design. Hyundai February 2024 Sales and Highlights With so many OEMs including GM, Ford, and Tesla tamping down or outright reducing the manufacturing volume of their BEV lineup, one brand is taking a different tack. Well sort of since the Ioniq 6 was not yet being sold in February of 2023 but there is no slowdown or stoppage of Ioniq 6 or Kona EV volumes being produced. That I know of anyway. Hyundai reported record-breaking total February 2024 sales of 60,341 vehicles, up 5.8% increase compared to the 57,044 sold in February of 2023. YTD sales still have a bit of catching up to do as the brand has sold 107,884 in all of 2024, down 1.1% below the 109,045 sold through the same period of 2023. Hyundai set sales records in February for Tucson (+8%), Tucson PHEV (+280%), Tucson HEV (+29%), Palisade (+16%), and Kona EV (+15%). Hyundai’s eco-friendly vehicle sales grew 7%, while fleet volume was 8.3%. Hyundai also achieved record-breaking retail sales of 55,341, a 5% increase year-over-year.
