Pressure can be displayed in the dash cluster. Press the little menu button (two overlapping sheets of paper icon) and then arrow up/down to look for it. Shows actual pressure in each tire. And it's accurate - matches my two digital gauges. They probably have 34 or 35 in them. For decent snow traction, you don't want to push them too high. Once snow is over for the season, boost them into the 40s. The stock tires roll rather well so you don't need to go beyond the sidewall number to get decent glides out of it.

Is that to keep mileage down or reduce accident risks among many cars while in your new Elantra? I like to put mileage on my older vehicle, because that doesn't reduce resale value on an older vehicle like it does on a newer vehicle. Or do you just like driving the Fit more than the Elantra?

As long as I'm driving 25K miles a year , I'd like to wear out the Fit and keep the Elantra fresh.

Yeah, our Elantras have retained their "peaks of freshness" for 11 & 8 years.....almost as tasty as peaches & cream.

I'm sure you noticed the BATT RESET button to the left of the steering column. Neat little feature. As you know, the car has no alternator or starter and no lead acid battery. It has the HSG, which is just a high voltage alternator wired to double as an electric motor. In place of the 12v battery is a corner of the 230v battery under the back seat, and it's just big enough to boot the car when you press the button. It doesn't need the massive current capacity to spin a starter. If you leave the car for a very long time in cold weather and the battery "dies", you open the car with the key, press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds, and then boot the car. The button allows the 12v battery to be jumped by the HV battery.

When I was in my "keep the Elantra fresh" phase and driving the Kia when the roads were covered in salt and fuel economy was in the sh*tter anyway because it was so cold, I left it for two weeks at a time in polar vortex weather. It was just fine after the hibernation. No signs of tired or drained battery. So you shouldn't have to worry about leaving the car parked for most of the week in winter. It handles it fine.

Last trip home for Jan 2024, 39F and light wind, landed at 67 on the FCD. Just under the unadjusted dyno number of 67.4.

    Well, we're glad you didn't.
For relatively balanced plant-derived amino acids, quinoa, soy products, or beans when combined with corn.

I like beans & corn, & will enjoy them combined with tomatoes. Lots of other fruits & vegetables, too. Got good sources. Anyone know Jevity in liquid concentrate by Abbott Labratories? Lots of minerals & vitamins with 15grams of soy protein. My nurse says it seems good.
Not much of a cook, but I like rice, raisins, now with Silk & almond milk & potatoes, as I've said in the past. Doctor says no to the rice & potatoes. With my walking tho, I need carbs & sugars. Won't walk like in the past. But, maybe I can get back to walking to the Senior Center.....& then back to the apt. It seems an obvious goal. I don't want to depend on the Jevity because it tastes like medicine.
