We bought some ice cream in large tubs to take home, we only had a meal there! This particular charger (pod point) has an app where it starts charging as soon as you plug it in, but you have to confirm the charge or it stops after 15 minutes - not sure why

I’m just making the most of it while I’m still going to work. Once I’ve finished at the end of March, my opportunities for free charging will be much reduced. The nearest public free charger is over 12 miles from home (the one I go to on the way to work), my mother-in-law’s house is sold (subject to contract) so I won’t be charging there once it’s all gone through in a couple of months time, and my mother’s house is also up for sale to pay for her care. I charge there sometimes (for free) as well. It will be worth it though as I will be retired and not have the commute any more which is around 8,500 miles a year .
For me, there are 3 FREE chargers 1 & 2.5 miles from home, capable of 6-7kW,…..even 1 FREE solar charger, with maybe 3 KWs?….. when our cloudy skies disappear. There are other FREE chargers within about 10-25 miles…..IF Shell continues to supply electricity like their purchased Volta company used to. I suspect Shell will screw that FREE charging & convenience. There are FREE scenic 80 amp chargers 50 & 100 miles away, which give Chevy Bolt full AC capability of 40 miles per hour. I hope to travel to those FREE chargers a lot more than I used to with ICE cars. There is a possibility of FREE charging on a nearly 400 mile circuit over 4000 & 5500 foot mountain passes, the Cascade Scenic Loop. This one day wonderful trip with lots of stops, is sweet in an ICE car. However, an extra 7(+?) hours of FREE, but sometimes scenic charging have to be added for an EV, which means you have to start AND finish in really early morning & late evening darkness. More hours have to be added if you have to wait for other charging cars. Also, if any chargers AREN’T WORKING, you’ll have to cancel the round trip & just go home, IF you can. BBBuuutttttt, for the possibility of 400 miles of FREE charging, I’ll do it…..& much more than I used to, on long summer days with ICE vehicles.

Yes, if I can swing an EV, I actually have a possibility of paying for the EV with FREE charging over a period of 15+ years(?), IF I can continue to be patient while charging SLOWLY. Many charging places will be nice to spend time enjoying the outdoors. I’ll be getting really old then & already am getting crickety. But since I’ve wanted an EV since 2006, an EV in my life must be soon, to give me any real advantage over ICE vehicles. Of course, there is the immediate improvement to town & city air quality by an EV & the advantages to the future atmosphere.

Been cold here the last few days. Cold this morning. Even a slight snow(didn’t even totally cover the grass). Haven’t driven anywhere for 2 days. But temps this afternoon are to be near mid-40’s & the highs tomorrow even higher. Despite the high gas prices, I’ll take a short drive to the river to get out of the house. PS……Took Lucky binocular with me……& Lucky was lucky….again. Right off the bat, when the river had a lack of birds during the previous weeks, I saw many Merganzers mixed with a few Goldeneye ducks. The lone male Goldeneye was immaculate, down to the precisely placed black feathers on his wings descending toward his flacks. Yes, Lucky binoculars were the optics to have, while gazing at 17 power. & I wasn’t the only one to notice. Despite it being Winter, four female Goldeneyes trailed after the male. Over on the island in the river, were Canadian Geese….& more Merganzers. Further down river, I saw a cute tiny Kestrel hawk. Lucky showed him well. Despite the narrow view(FOV), I was able to track the Kestrel when he took flight….twice. Later, a private jet flew over. Lucky showed the jet in excellent detail. The jet proves that rich people still are working hard to avoid mixing with underling americans who are still spreading ccp coronavirus around the country……big time. After an initial 70% drop in sales after ccp coronavirus broke out, private jet sales have tremendously re-bounded to 20% greater than the pre-ccp coronavirus break-out date.
