    Hi All:

With a few stops along route for clothes <-- do not ask, a rest stop, and a ton of traffic to drive through the Holland Tunnel and drive into the city even after midnight, I finally reached NY City Hall. While this is the final stop per the Guinness World Record requirements, I still needed to have the vehicle inspected and complete the final refuel...

    Hi All:

The vehicle inspection went off without a hitch and it was time for the final refuel at a Shell, just a few blocks down the street from said vehicle inspection in Jersey City, NJ.

    Congratulations !

There are worse ways to use 34.476 gallons of gasoline, such as perhaps just over a tankful in an FSP and maybe 300 miles of commuting 1 person.

Just a few minutes after it became official...

Soon afterwards, I was on my way back home but needed to complete a day of media support so back to Jersey City, NJ it was.

2023 Toyota Prius at Exchange Place, Jersey City, NJ

Exchange Place is a bustling financial district that serves as a major hub for business and transportation. Located along the waterfront of the Hudson River, it offers stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, making it a desirable location for both work and leisure. The area is home to numerous office buildings, including the iconic Goldman Sachs Tower, which is one of the tallest buildings in New Jersey. This concentration of financial firms and corporate offices has earned Exchange Place the nickname "Wall Street West," reflecting its importance as a financial center outside of New York City.

In addition to its commercial significance, Exchange Place is a key transportation nexus, providing easy access to various parts of New Jersey and New York City. The PATH train station at Exchange Place offers a quick and convenient connection to Manhattan, while the nearby ferry terminal provides an alternative route across the Hudson River. Additionally, the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail system serves the area, facilitating travel within Jersey City and to neighboring communities. These transportation options make Exchange Place an attractive location for businesses and commuters alike, enhancing its role as a dynamic and accessible district.

The area around Exchange Place also boasts a range of recreational and cultural amenities that add to its appeal. The waterfront promenade is a popular spot for walking, jogging, and enjoying scenic views, while nearby parks and green spaces offer a respite from the urban environment. The vista behind the Prius shows this off in its entirety. The district is also close to cultural institutions such as the Liberty Science Center and the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal, providing residents and visitors with educational and entertainment opportunities. With its blend of business, transportation, and leisure facilities, Exchange Place stands out as a vibrant and multifaceted part of Jersey City.

The following day, it was off towards Chicago before heading to Dallas to turn in the 23 Prius and swap back into my own 21 Prius Prime. Along the route, the highest point on I-80 east of the Mississippi is a must stop. While not as exciting as a Buc-ee's or seeing the St. Louis Arch, the Gateway to the West, in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, it is an attraction nonetheless. :D

Mighty impressive result, Wayne. It would put many EVs to shame even if lower speeds were part of the comparison. I really like that front-side profile view.

add: Did the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 features help?

Washington state people brag about their Cascade Mountain range(even extending to other states & into Canada), altho the mountains are not nearly as high as some mtn ranges. Of course, numerous Western Washington cities are ocean level. Even east of the Cascades, away from the ocean, some city elevations are still pretty low(Richmond is 390feet & Wenatchee in the middle of the state is 778feet). However, some plateau & higher cities of eastern Washington have fairly good elevations(Waterville, WA is 2625 feet & Republic, WA is 2569 feet).

    Hi litesong:

One of the unfortunate routes I decided on was NC-194 passing through Banner Elk in western NC. That road peaked at over 4,800 and it was an ugly night time drive!

I know the area, having vacationed a little south of there in Little Switzerland. Views are amazing but some crazy hairpin roads climbing and descending the mountains. Memorable vista but not a recommended route for maximum fuel economy.

    Hi Edwin:

They placed the Mirai in one of their displays at their Corporate HQ in Plano, TX.

having knocked out one with their second gen H2 FCEV and now the premiere HEV, I hope we can do it again with a more energy dense pouch based Li-Ion or possibly even a solid state equipped EV in a year or two. ;)

If I had an EV, I think I would love that route. It's got a number of FREE L2 chargers that I could use, while walking the areas. & all the switchbacks that MaxxMPG mentions I would love in the EV.
