Thank you for the TV particulars. However, the largest TV we can find a place for, is limited to about 50 inches & then, only if it is one of them curved ones. Your listed 55 inch TLC is tempting for $188 & Energy of $14! But my wife says TLC’s are too complicated. We both don’t like WalMart. Within the last year, we did get a 32 inch for $100(not at WalMart). We’ll see if it lasts very long.

Hi All: About Walmart BFs deal... Walmart pulled a real jerk move late last month when they were offering a 58" Hisense for $198 ($298 regular price) for "Walmart +" members starting at Noon EST, the rest of us beginning at 03:00 PM EST, and running until 07:00 PM EST. The Walmart + membership is a ridiculously overpriced $95/year with half price and 30-day free trials showing up now. In any case, the second that deal went live, inventory in every store in the entire country went to 0. At 07:00 PM, inventory magically reappeared at most every store in the country. That night, I drove to 4 Walmart's including Springhill, Franklin, Brentwood, and Nashville TN and all had 3 or more sets, but none would price match to the deal offered just hours earlier. A real D**K move by Walmart for sure. I am just providing a heads up that this same scam could occur for the $148 TCL 55" or the $448 Hisense 75" deals this coming Tuesday. Unless you pick up a trial membership for Free, picking up at 07:00 PM that night is going to be tough. Wayne
Hi All: A Roku TV is probably the easiest to use out of the box while an Android or Google TV is the most configurable. With Roku going through a tough time in terms of business operations - losses continue to expand, Roku could be out of business within a year or two. A stock that loses 90% of its value in just a year is one that may no longer be viable in short order. If so, there will be no more updates and you could screw yourself going forward. The answer to this is to consider an Android or Google TV and simply use a $24.98 Roku 4K stick and Roku Remote for the time being. If Roku disappears in a few years, unplug and you have your Google or Android TV back. Hi All: One other item... Between Sept. 1st and Oct. 31st, Hisense was running a 100-day Guarantee promo and providing a $100 Gift Card for most 65" and larger sets. Best Buy was on the list and the highly rated 65" or 75" U65H cost just $399 and $599 respectively after the gift card was included. The 65" U6H with a 7.9 rating and an Energy Guide cost of $32 for just $399 is a steal in no uncertain terms. That deal is over which makes me think Hisense prices may fall by another $50 to $100 before BF actually arrives? Maybe Christmas? The Superbowl is one of the biggest events for U.S. TV sales if you can wait that long, the deal should be even better. I did not consider any of the upper mid-range to high end units including the highly rated OLED Samsung S95B (8.6 on Rtings) and LG C2 (9.0 on Rtings). The prices for these units are just not fathomable for most with the global economy outside of the U.S. in recession and that the strong dollar should have seen any imports prices fall in lock step. It is too bad as not only are they really light, the OLED LG C2 (65" for $1699) has an excellent Energy Guide rating of $26! The OLED Samsung S95B (65" for $1699) is even better with an Energy Guide rating of just $20!!! Wayne
Hi All: I purchased the 55" TCL 5S41 ($205 with tax and free shipping) and the 75" Hisense R6 ($452 with tax and free shipping) on Nov. 7th. Those deals are still on the Walmart Electronics home page now. The 55" arrived this morning and within 20-minutes, all the streaming apps were setup on the Roku OS. Best news of all, it not only looks good, the Energy Guide of $12 is a true energy saver vs. what is coming. While I cannot add anything regarding the long term reliability of this TCL, out of the box, the Pic quality is decent, brightness is decent, and the Roku front end makes everything a breeze. For $188 + tax, it makes for a great Christmas gift too. Wayne

Same attributes that you state. Figured if it lasted for 3years, $100 would be well spent. Can the TCL feet be moved closer? We just have a narrow spot that needs a single foot or very narrow feet. Our narrow spot wouldn’t even take our 32 inch TV feet. Really would like a true 120Hz refresh rate, not the fake 120 motion, but that is too expensive. Plus, 55 inches is just too big for us. Continue telling of the TCL’s longevity. Really tho. I don’t want to get into escalating prices for too many chinese products.
Hi All: Just to update. The Walmart 75" Hisense was canceled as they could not find someone to deliver that monster. Marian and I were at our local Walmart and saw a number in their storage area - formally the indoor Garden Center. I was not willing to rent a truck to pick it up so maybe I will be waiting for another 65 or 75" for the living room as we close in on not just Black Friday but maybe even Christmas. The Hisense UH6 at BestBuy is still $699 and that is a little rich in my book for a basic feature set with a mid-level but modern display. And the $188 55" TCL? Marian likes it. Wayne

Hi All: I do not know if this will help anyone here but Costco has a hell of a deal on the LG 86" Class - UQ8000 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV with a 3-year Allstate Protection Plan Bundle for 5 years of total coverage. If you purchase (2) of the 86's, the total price before tax comes to $1,699.98. My oldest son lives about 3 blocks from me here in Nashville so we ordered two, one for him and one for myself to get the deal. The 55" TCL 4-Series for $188 from a Black Friday deal is still going strong and this one appears to be a pretty darn good deal in its own right as well. The 86" UQ8000 includes LGs fastest chip, the α7 Gen 5 AI Processor, 120 Hz Refresh Rate, Variable Refresh Rate, AI Sound Pro, Magic Remote with NFC and a $75 Streaming Service Credit. It uses a lower quality IPS panel so it is not the deeper black and higher contrast VA panel but it looks pretty good in person. It will be delivered tomorrow and I still have not ordered a wall mount for it. The Energy Guide is showing a decent annual cost of $37/year which for an 86" LEV TV is actually pretty good. Wayne
The 32 inch TCL is at 15 months. Still looks remarkable & been on a lot! Tho the TCL only has 60Hz re-fresh rate, I enjoy our Seattle Mariners baseball games & am looking forward to the 2023 French Open tennis. ////// PS…..Oh, weather report: Heavy black clouds moving toward our neighborhood. My wife & the dog are somewhere having a walk. Looking toward the 20 mile distant mountains, I see rain. The weather report says, 90% of rain here in 10 minutes. Now I see rain one mile away. Over & out…..rained-out. PS I….My wife & dog got home before the rain…… /////// PS II…..Wow! I just had to say, Mariner’s just had a miracle game….maybe a many miracles game! Ya ain’t goin’ ta belieb et. The Houston Astros were leading 3-0, after scoring in early innings. Mariners, of course, had nuthin’. & that’s where the score was as the Mariners came to bat in the bottom of the eighth inning. & the Mariners made two quick outs. Looked like they had fried the offense in the 8th inning. Then, the faucet opened up, as a Mariners batter got on with a walk. Cal Raleigh, the catcher, with 2 strikes, tapped a seeing-eye squeaker, that the pitcher couldn’t quite get to his right & both the third baseman & shortstop interfered with each other. The next batter hit another seeing-eye ball that the shortstop fielded but was so out of position, he couldn’t get anyone out. Remember, all Houston needed was 1 out to get out of the inning. With the bases loaded, shortstop J.P. Crawford, who was breaking out of a weak hitting season beginning, nailed a 106MPH exiting double to the wall, that scored the game-tying 3 runs. A walk was issued to the next batter. A new kid, Jose Caballero, replacing the regular injured-earlier-in-the-game 2nd baseman, hit a 99MPH fast ball for a double, scoring 2 more runs. Julio Rodriguez, having early season sophomore jinx problems, hit a solid single, adding 1 more run. Ty France hit a bloop single to left field. Julio caught the left fielder sleeping & piled into 3rd base, ahead of the late throw. Jarred Kelenic, who had, 2 weeks before, hit 3 homers in 2 games, exiting at 110 & 111MPH, plastered a good single to the right fielder, to score the final & 7th run of the inning, all base runners & runs with just 1 out remaining! One remarkable note is that the Mariners pounded a pitcher that was throwing fastballs as high as 100MPH, & numerous fastballs at 98 & 99MPH. Just incredible. The Mariners finally held on to win 7-5 at the end of the game. All brought to me, by TCL.
Hi All: A little update on the LG 86" UQ 8000 TV with regards to its power consumption. Its power consumption looks like this: Watching full screen Hi-Def YouTube vids: 100W to 110W Black screen while listening to Music channels: 65W Standby: 0W 105W for 5-hrs/day comes to .525 kWh/day 365-days of 5-hrs/day comes to almost 192 kWh I am currently paying $0.144/kWh for my electricity all in so it would cost me ~ $27.65 to watch std. Hi-Def programming on the 86" for 5 hours per day every day for an entire year. I guess the energy guide is a little less optimistic but I will take it. I also will never watch an 86" TV for 5-hours per day for an entire year either. Wayne

Patches who was in classic clown make-up, supposedly residing at the city dump. Well, the Mariners have a player named J.P. Crawford. & 3 other ball players have the first name initials of J.P……..Arencibia, Feyereisen, & Howell.
Hi All: A little update since we are already days beyond the 2023 Black Friday. I sent the 86" LG back earlier this year as their was a smudgy white bleed through in any letterbox programming. My son's 86" did not have this so he still has his. I waited until this years Black Friday deals began to show up a few weeks back to replace it. The replacement? The Hisense 75" Roku Smart TV R6 Series 75R6030G was going for just $398 the week before Black Friday. Now unfortunately it is back up to $618. The Hisense 6090 achieved a 6.9 rating on Rtings and at just $398 + tax, this one is a good one. It is much brighter than last years $188 55" TCL Hot Deal and provides a much more vibrant picture including deeper blacks. A decent 75" for < $400 for our Nashville home is a pretty good deal. It may take a few more years before the super efficient OLED's come down to a more affordable level. Hisense 75" Roku R6 Series Energy Guide I am not a fan of this level of consumption but it will be unplugged for 6 + months out of the year. I am considering a 3 in 1 stand for just $78 plus tax for the smallest bedroom that the 55" can be placed on. Wayne
Whether $400 or $618, the tax alone on that set is a good portion of the $98 I paid for my 43 inch ONN. Man, taxes are eating retirement funds, for sure. I even said "Ugh", when I saw the tax on my TV. PS....However, the ONN TV is quite good. I've been watching some bird & scenic videos with extra pleasure....even some music videos, too. We'll see if a year or two from now, if the ONN will be as enjoyable. Yes, I'm happy with my non-researched, spur-of-the-moment cheap buy. Well, back to the TV!
You could come shop at our neighbor state NH sales tax free always, or MA during the one or two sales tax free days each year. Your travel expenses would likely kill you though..
If I can afford an EV, plot my way across the country on FREE L2 chargers AND put on some of my over-sized used AND CHEAP tires.....well, I just might. But, plans are to see a lot of my Pacific Northwest first. Meanwhile, I'm really enjoying my ONN TV! Watching a lot of the aerial videos of some of the Western States. They don't PRESENT the videos very well, but the views themselves are spectacular. The sappy accompanying music is tragic, tho...arthritic piano players making a last-ditch attempt to make a bit of money to sustain their last years, without playing many notes, at all. I think videographers don't know how to pick proper musicians to accompany their videos or are cheaping out ON THE MUSIC. Ah, that's it! The video makers are playing their own terrible compositions.
