Hi All: A friend of mine, Dave Ringgold out of the Atlanta area, purchased a 2025 Ioniq 5 last week and posted some excellent DCFCing results. He was attached to one of the highly regarded, brand new, Ionna 400 KW DCFCers - made by Alpitronic in Italy, and the results show Hyundai has not only updated the ICCU for no 12V bus failures going forward, but they have also opened up the DCFC charge profile a tad for the 25 MY. The peak rate of 236 KW now runs out to at least 57% vs 47% for the 22 - 24s and continues to hold at > 160 KW through at least 75% vs 68% from the previous tests. You can somewhat compare the 2025's DCFC performance to this 2022' Ioniq 5 I DCFC Profiled from 10 to 80% way back in 2022 for comparison. The 2022 Kia EV6 using the exact same HW we had a few years back was able to hold onto that 235 KW rate out to 49% when I profiled its charging curve showing how there was an opening of the curve by the Hyundai BMS engineers. 9 to 80% in 18-minutes. And remember, the Kia EV6 provided a 21-minute charge from 5 to 80% while attached to on an EA 150? That is still the best profile I have ever seen while attached to a lowly EA 150 and for all intents and purposes, the 2025 may charge even faster on an EA 150 given it was still holding 161 KW out to 75% SOC on the Ionna 400 vs 133 KW at 80% on the EV6 I was DCFCing on the EA 150. Hi All: I have not confirmed this but apparently a number of online posts are stating Hyundai has stopped selling the Ioniq 5? Can anyone confirm this with their local Hyundai dealership? 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 With so many ICCU failures disabling the vehicle for weeks to months while waiting for replacement electronic parts, and Lemon buy backs, I wonder if that has something to do with it? April 2026 US Sales showed some very respectable results with the Ioniq 5 reaching 3,603 new drives, up 6% over the 3,411 sold in April 2025. YTD sales of 13,393 were up 11% over the 12,022 sold during April of 2025. In fact, it was Hyundai US' best performer on an April 26 over April 25 % increase. The EV6 uses the same HW and I have to wonder if anything has happened on its side of the fence? Wayne
No idea if Ioniq 5 sales stopped, but they've been selling well, currently 10k below MSRP, with 10 available within 30 miles. I have a 2026 and the ICCU issue didn't stop me or others who do the research. People who hit the ICCU issue have been getting replacements within the week. Not seeing a huge volume in the Ioniq forum. There's now a 15 year 180k(?) mile warranty on the ICCU.
