    Hi All:

At this year’s NY Auto Show, Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 was awarded the prestigious World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year by an international jury for its unique design and decent all-electric range.

A jury of 100 automotive journalists from 32 countries chose IONIQ 6 from the top three finalists, all launched in 2022. This is Hyundai’s second straight triple honors at the World Car Awards. Last year, the jury named IONIQ 5 the winner in these same categories.

The IONIQ 6 is the second model in Hyundai’s dedicated all-electric IONIQ lineup. Built on the brand's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture with 800V, DCFC’ing capabilities allowing a 10 to 80 percent fast charge in just 18 minutes.

With a drag coefficient of just 0.21, the IONIQ 6 is one of the most aerodynamic and energy efficient EVs on the market. When configured with 18” alloys and tires, the RWD SE trim ($45,500 + D&H) provides a reasonable 361-miles of AER.

IONIQ 6 includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) tech, driver assistance systems and advanced connectivity with over-the-air (OTA) software updates. The spacious and ergonomic interior takes full advantage of the lengthy 116 in. wheelbase.

Hyundai just announced plans to become one of the world’s top 3 EV manufacturers by 2030 through the combined sales of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EVs.

The Group announced plans to significantly expand the annual EV production in Korea to 1.51 million units and global volume to 3.64 million units by 2030. To enable such plans, Hyundai Motor and Kia, alongside with Hyundai MOBIS, plan to invest $18-billion USD) in the EV sector domestically.

In the US, Hyundai plans to introduce 17 new BEV models by 2030, including Genesis luxury brand models.
