US Nitrogen Dioxide Emissions Map

    NASA recently released a time-lapse map of NO2 emissions over the US between 2005 and 2021. How are we doing? The report card is pretty good. NASA attributes the lower concentrations to more stringent environmental regulations. Regardless, the drop is quite dramatic:

    "...This visualization shows tropospheric column concentrations of nitrogen dioxide as detected by the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) on NASA's Aura satellite, averaged yearly from 2005-2021..."
