9:10AM.....King-FM is playing Haydn's Symphony # 94. Haydn visited England a lot & finally settled there permanently. Londoners loved him. He lived 77 years, born 24 years before Mozart & out-lived Mozart by 18 years. Also different, the Londoners paid the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars for Haydn's latter music, & he died rich. Mozart died in poverty.
The greatest irony is that Haydn learned much from Mozart AND incorporated a lot Mozart's music in his latter music.

The KING-FM announcer just said that Washington state is one of the higher states for recycling materials. KING-FM is playing Bach's Keyboard #2, BWV 1053, a recycled concerto from earlier in his life.
Before copyrighting, often musicians re-used their own AND other composers' music. Instead of thinking music was stolen, composers were pleased when their musical ideas were used by other composers....at least, some composers liked their music being re-used!

Dolly Pardon loved that Whitney Houston re-used her composition, "I Will Always Love You"....because it made so much more money for Pardon when Houston sang it, just in the copyright funds.

See! I told you! Turned Classical KINGFM on & a favorite piece of mine is on, this time the GUITAR CONCERTO NO.1 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, ending less than a minute later. Oh, well.

Anyhow, a favorite Dvorak piece, the Symphony # 7 is now playing. In the mid-1800’s Dvorak loved the new inventions of railroads. Riding on them, he heard lots of different rhythms & sounds on the trains, which he incorporated in his symphonies.
