    Thanks, Gord for starting February 2022 for us. Guess, I’m second in line after you. Many of our gas stations here in Washington state are over $4 per regular gallon.
    Not driving anywhere, now at 2AM, but my arthritis woke me up. I’m sure glad we don’t get as much snow in our lowland as they get back east. However, Goldbar, up Highway 2 toward the mountains, but still lowland, has small remaining snow that was piled up along the roads from weeks ago. I must say that both Mt. Rainier AND Mt. Baker, in the Cascade Mountains, set world records for yearly snowfall.

    Yeah, like you, I see the need for an EV! It appears tho, that my second choice to get an affordable EV, is NOT a favored candidate on this website. Oh, well.

    At 6:10 and 6:40 Monday AM , I vomited. A LOT.
    Left work at 8:30. Checked my temperature before I left (97.5 F,normal for me). I will need to have a negative result
    on a COVID test in order to return to work.

    Good luck, Edwin. You cannot be pregnant, so maybe food poisoning? Hope it isn't anything serious. One quick search source indicates 5-10% of adults may have vomiting as a symptom of COVID-19.

    Well…..I’ve been bragging that we have rain, instead of the snow that Chicago has. Of course, I got up this morning…..& there is a trace of snow on the ground. I have to change my brag, that we have less snow than back east….. or not! :cool: Also, the huge, bland but cold-looking cloud has piled into the mountains. When it clears, we’ll see if it deposited any more snow in the mtns.
    /////
    PS…..later in the day:
    Was sleeping nice this afternoon. Woke up & black low clouds were to the north, but sunshine was pouring into the house from the south. Went into the street & saw black low clouds east toward the mountains, black low clouds to the west & black low clouds directly over me, with me in the patch of sunshine. Then, it began hailing, then harder…..then harder still. Went back in the house, & realized that my wife & her mom went for a walk & must be in the hailstorm. Started the car, out of the garage & into the street to get them…….& there they were directly in front of me. Backed the car into the garage, & they were in the house before I was parked. So much for my “heroic effort to rescue damsels in distress”.
    /////
    PS I…..even later today:
    Got fairly nice after the hail storm past, so I went for a drive. Looking at the distant mountains, I could see another foot or 2 of new snow had fallen. Over by the river, there were lots of crows, but few other birds, except for Goldeneye. At first, I thought I saw foam on the river waters. But, binoculars showed that it must have been a combination of the hail & snow that earlier came down. Striking the river water, the snow must have consolidated with the hail creating fairly large inches-wide chunks of iceballs by the time I saw them. Since the falling hail & snow came down over an hour previously, the river water coming from the mountains must have been cold indeed, & the consolidations must have been considerably larger further upriver. Very interesting.

    2-2-22:
    PS II…..Well, look what happens (or doesn’t happen) when you stop paying attention to the weather. Our 3 family members went for a walk this late morning. My wife’s mom said that hail was still in the backyard AND we saw some on our walk. It must have been cold enough through the night & a little hail was still on the ground this morning! That’s as amazing as the iceballs in the river, yesterday. Subconsciously, I’ve been staying in the house…..because it’s pretty chilly.

    Thanks, Bill. I'm thinking food poisoning. Or more likely flu, although the only time I contracted the flu was in 2000.
    Anyway, I have one COVID test at 4:00 today and a Rapid Diagnostic test Wednesday at 11:30.
    I'm feeling MUCH better today and ate food that actually stayed down.

    Ever since ccp coronavirus started its rounds around the World, our family has been healthier than our norms…..no colds, flu, or other possible communicable downturns from health. We have been able to reduce our contacts with others dramatically…… a great advantage for retired, older people.

    Has anyone heard from Edwin lately. I’m getting very worried.
    Oh, he did post yesterday, but in the January thread. He is supposed to have a “rapid Covid test” today.

    Thanks, Gord. Feeling fantastic today, took my 2nd test and shoveled my driveway.
    Hopefully I will be back at work tomorrow. Litesong,I'm older but not retired.
    But this will be my last year of work, I think.

    Yes, I just posted in the January thread. We had 5-6" of snow here so far.
    When I get results from my tests, I will post again.

    I don't know where you got that idea, litesong... While we all have opinions about cars we like or dislike, your car choice is yours and yours alone. (well, if your wife allows of course) I hope your preferred vehicle is still there when you're ready. I've been reading rumors about Bolt EV and Bolt EUV. Better (hopefully) vehicles are in the pipeline from GM on their Ultium battery platform.

    I think you're inferring disfavor based on various people's thoughts about the requirement for free charging. That's another can of worms and again belongs in the realm of free thought. I think people's thoughts and suggestions are supportive of what may be consistent with saving money if that were the primary goal. That all depends on your priorities of course. We cannot dictate any of that to you.

    Never could afford an ICE Honda. We’ll see what they want for an EV Honda.

    The only reason I have a Toyota is because Honda didn't make a decent hybrid at the time.
    A Honda is worth every penny spent in the long run. I owned a few of them.
    My favorite one ( now in Honda Heaven ) was my 1989 Civic Si.
    Midwestern winters, specifically salt, killed that car. At 14 years and 229K miles,
    the engine was still strong and the clutch was original. The body had rusted to the point
    where you couldn't attach a new fuel tank ( also rusted and visibly leaking ).
