Today , still in the Civic. 37 deg F in Elk Grove ,
    snow is ( slowly ) melting. 16.3 miles , no highway ,
fcd = 43.9 MPG. Car actually glides now that it is above freezing.

When it was below freezing, I recall gliding without the wheels rotating, usually unintentionally.

    That has happened to me.

Today , in the Prius. Despite a fair amount of snow melting yesterday , I
got stuck in the driveway. I had plenty of momentum , but I missed the snowbank
by a good three tire widths (12") , and had to do a little digging. I'm not firing on
all cylinders at 4:00 AM. Also , it's difficult to see out of the Prius when backing up.

38 deg F in Elk Grove , and a nice tailwind all the way ! 35.1 miles ,
    fcd = 61.6 x .943 = 58.1 MPG. Not summer or even spring numbers , but
better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Taking the scenic route home ,
    so I expect 65-67 fcd.

    Last night, motorway route, 59°F:
49.5 / 21.4 - pretty good for a home run, a slow driver behind me (40 in a 50psl) meant I could do loads of long glides on the final section before home.

To work this morning, motorway route, 43°F:
    48.7 / 21.7

    Tank up 0.3 at 45.9 (FCD 48.4) / 345.1 / Range 290 . Guess gauge F___«|««««E . UG up 0.3 at 45.9 / DTE 317

    Today , 23 deg F in Naperville , 22 in Elk Grove.
    35.1 miles , fcd = 61.5 x .943 = 58.0 MPG.
97 miles remaining on this tank. Probably enough to
go to work Tuesday then drop the car at my mechanic afterwards.

Today , 32 deg F in Naperville and Elk Grove.
Took a different route so I could stop at an amazon
locker in Naperville. This uses one of the roads on the
scenic route ( US 34 ). Got on I-88 from Naperville Road , then
to I-355 North the usual morning route. I did pay the $0.95
    toll ( grumble). 32.6 miles , fcd = 42.6 MPG. ( Civic )
