Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has hardly changed - up a tiny 0.6¢ (+0.3%) since last month at $2.185 - this time last year it was much higher at $2.719 so it's still 53.4¢ (-19.6%) cheaper.
Diesel is down a touch -0.6¢ (-0.2%) on the month to $2.431. It's 55.6¢ (-18.6%) cheaper than this time last year's $2.987. Diesel premium is down to +11.3% over Regular.
E85 is also down to $1.977 - a year ago it was $2.381 so 17% cheaper.

I’m back home from a week’s vacation but haven’t punched all the numbers into my spreadsheet yet and I have another week off work :).

    Thanks , Gord.
I've been off work all last week , but I go back Monday.
Didn't drive a lot. When I drove the Honda , it was about 50 MPG.
When I drove the Prius , about 62-65 MPG ( shorter trips than usual ).
Going to O'Hare in the Prius today , so not the greatest MPG.

    Today , 52 deg F in Naperville.
    35.1 miles , fcd = 66.8 x .943 = 63.0 MPG.
    Tank is at 291.6 miles , 381 remaining , fcd = 68.5 x .943 = 64.6 MPG.

Honda tank is holding steady at 50.8 MPG (fcd) and 526 miles.
Maybe I can squeeze out a round trip Thursday to end up with 580-some miles.

Hopefully I will make it to my usual Amoco in Naperville to fill up.

I went out for an errand yesterday.

    54.5 / 5.4 out
    50.3 / 5.4 home

The tank is at 46.1 / 250 miles, 3/4 full since April.

I have used more fuel in the mower, and the tractor, and the full-sized van during this time. Monthly feed store runs with 6-800 lb requires more than a Fit, while I used to do 1-2 week runs.

Had a good trip home in the Honda yesterday.
    Scenic route #2 , one stop , 33.3 miles , 55.0 MPG.
    Filled up at 590.9 miles , 11.800 gallons fcd = 51.0 MPG.
    590.9/11.8 = 50.1 MPG.

Well, new record over the weekend. And not the good kind. I took the Nissan 3500 van and picked up a camper trailer. 5000 lb trailer. 15 mpg there, 8.5 back.

Good thing you don't do that regularly.

Here's an interesting (to me) datapoint for an EV pulling a big load. I did not check how a Tesla would do, but towing doesn't come for free so I would not expect miracles.

    https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30913804/audi-e-tron-ev-towing/

For their all high-speed highway test, it took about 50% more energy to pull the load.

Today I am driving the Civic.
    58 deg F in Naperville.
Took a detour to avoid waiting for a slow train.
It cost 1.8 miles and about four minutes , but helped
    trip fuel economy a bit. 36.8 miles , fcd = 51.5 MPG.
This is the 3rd tank since June 6 or when ever I bought this car.
Every tank has been above 50 MPG (barely).
