Oh, Costco at my favorite outlet, dropped gasoline to tie the lowest price in the state, $4.29. With our yearly rebate from Costco, gasoline is down to $4.13. This west-coaster calls that a BIG YAHOO! PS……Oh, looky looky. Other stations dropped below Costco! Like they say, if prices are going down, wait as long as possible before filling again.
Hi All: With a $0.35/gallon off stacked deal - Fuel Rewards and TMobile - on the Fuel Rewards Network, I paid $3.509/gallon in Tyler, Texas 4-days ago. I have been filling up at just under $4/gallon in TX, AR, MO, TN, KY, and WI. $5 plus in CA, AZ, and IL is > $5 but I am filling in WI currently. Wayne
That gets a big YOWZA YOWZA from me. But, I do have to teach you about carrying gas cans along with you. You could have saved $24 over our prices with lots of gas to go lots of miles. PS……Oh……I wasn’t thinking of hot, hot Texas. Leave the gas cans at home. I use gas cans on cooler days in the Northwest here, but not in really really hot weather. Any thunderstorms around, EMPTY gas cans stay home.
And $34.43 will take you a LONG way in a Prius Prime. Prices here vary from $4.85 to S5.25. And that's Dupage County. Cook County has higher taxes , and city of Chicago add some more to that. I have no clue what fuel sells for in Chicago , don't go there much.
& now no station in Idaho OR MONTANA have gas prices as low as in Washington State. PS…..No lower prices in Oregon, Nevada or California, also.
What’s even more excellent than the present comparatively low gas prices in Washington state is those station placements are near & very near, some of Washington’s best scenic drives, one being the expansive views given on the Chuck-a-Nut drive with some good hiking & beach walking at Larrabee State Park, south of Bellingham. Another is the scenic (binoculars mandatory) Deception Pass Bridge & Deception Pass State Park. Whether you watch from the tall Bridge, take the Deception Pass Tour boats of strong & stout constructions, or hike in the Park, you have varying views of the treacherous poundings of high-speed Salish Sea(Puget Sound) tidal changes through the Narrows…….EXCELLENT, just excellent.
Washington state continues with the lowest gas prices on the West Coast, even 30+cents lower than Idaho! & still lower than Montana. AND those low prices are very near the wonderful Deception Pass State Park & Bridge. A few states have gas prices as low as $3.30! Any prices lower?
Hi All: Driving from Austin to the IL/WI and Lake Michigan border, prices in IL are by far the highest in the Midwest at $5+. They are in fact close to CA fuel prices which is unusual from when I lived there a few years ago. Driving across the IL/WI border into Kenosha, WI, prices ranged from $3.949 to $4.29 per gallon. I topped off at $3.99 yesterday morning. Driving from Kenosha, WI to Nashville, TN yesterday, IL was in the high $4 to low $5 range almost half way down the state. Indiana was only a little better with prices from $4.39 to $4.89. As soon as I crossed into KY from Evansville, IN, prices dropped below the $4 range once again. I refueled just south of Nashville, TN last night at a Shell ($3.99 retail) for $3.749 thanks to the Shell/Fuel Rewards $0.05/gallon and $0.20/gallon TMobile Tuesday/Fuel Rewards code. There are off brand stations up near Nashville that are now below $3.70 per gallon with no need for discounts and such. Wayne
Today, one station in Montana has a $4.10 per gallon price & lower than the lowest price in Washington state. Even in the high priced west, gas prices are reducing towards $4 per gallon.
Today, 1 station in Mississippi is $3.27 per gallon. Any state any lower? PS……One station in Ohio is $3.439 per gallon.
Yesterday was beautifully warm, with cooling down gas prices, & predictions of cloudier & cooler weather coming. Yes, I’m missing all the good weather driving that has been long in coming since winter. Still recovering from ccp coronavirus, I had to sneak out for a long-delayed drive. These over-sized tires on the small auto Elantra, really do add to its highway roadability. Elantra engine eased through the long river valley, fortunately didn’t hinder any other cars, & gained well earned MPG with the big boots. Stopped a couple times for binocular views & a bit of walking, when no one else was around me. Yes, a sweet ride & even a bit of walking, feeling better than I have for a week.
Hi All: I was in Huntsville, AL last night and fuel prices along the major highways were approximately the same as in TN. $3.90 to $4.20 was the norm. Litesong, get well soon and I am glad to hear you are on the back side of it! Wayne
Ah…..Washington Costco reacts as numerous other gas stations reduce their prices BELOW the prices of the lowest Costco stations. One Costco station lowered its price…….one whole penney. Sorry Costco…….ya gotta react even more, to set much lower prices. PS…..Whoa! One of the Washington Costco’s reacted……& RAISED their gas prices…..& not just a little bit!
One of the Costco stations listened to me & dropped its gas price, somewhat more, & now tied for 2nd place with a handful of stations in Washington state. With the yearly Costco rebate, the price is now $4.04 & is staring at sub- $4 prices.
Firstly, Costco is Top Tier gasoline. Secondly, I never went by Top Tier. When I was using 100% ethanol-free gasoline(none were Top Tier), EVERY TANK I had of the 100% ethanol-free gasoline always gave smooth performance & 5% to 8% better MPG than all 10% ethanol fuel blends, which included ALL Top Tier gasolines. In essence, Top Tier was a piece of advertising, most often based on additives of “cleanliness”.
