Well, tried to get gas yesterday at the Exxon, but the pump I pulled up to was broke, and I didn't want to wait in line for another pump. I filled up today at a local 7-11. After my 0.05 7-11 Rewards discount, and my 0.04 Get Upside rebate, I was at 2.699.
In the high $4 range for regular. Then again, every drop of fuel we burn here has to be brought in by ship.
Hi Bill: Fantastic report! And that Coldfoot price has to be the highest in the 50 states! Do you know what they were driving up to Alaska? I have always wanted to drive up to Deadhorse and take the bus to Prudhoe Bay to see the Bering/Beaufort Sea but that may never happen. Wayne
Hi All: I had to refuel Marian's Sonata so decided to show the price difference between San Diego and Orange/LA County. 08-20-2025 - Carlsbad, CA - Costco - $4.199 And the following day I refueled on my way back from LAX. 08-21-2025 - Signal Hill, CA - Costco - $3.899 I am also expecting prices to increase quickly once the Saudi's experience their GDP dropping due to their oil based in dollars. Maybe? Or Maybe not? Wayne
Hi All: I had to run to LAX late Tuesday evening and would not make it to OC or LA in time to pick up some of their lower priced fuel. The lowest Costco near my path is now running at $3.99 per anyway. I refueled at a local Mohsen in Oceanside who just installed new pumps. They sucked but the large bright displays were cool. 08-26-2025 - Oceanside, CA - Mohsen - $4.059 And early yesterday morning, I was called out to run to the San Diego AP. Ok, no big deal. When I get to the pickup, there was a problem with the type of device(s) to transport and I questioned the tech about the ability to air transport. She said definitely not - good catch by me, and the job was rerouted to Las Vegas by car. Ok, I am on my way with two devices and I had enough fuel to make it to Vegas where there was a Costco at $2.929. When I was just 20-miles from the CA/NV border, I was called to immediately turn around and instead of deliver both to a Hospital in Las Vegas, they wanted them delivered to two different locations, one in Azusa, CA and the other to Cedars Sinai in downtown LA. At rush hour. I refueled at a Love's on the 15 when headed back for a lot more than I had planned. The best laid plans fell apart in this case. 08-27-2025 - Barstow, CA - Love's - $3.849 w/ the $0.10 off/gal Love's App discount deal. Wayne
Most of ours are around $3.80. But my last tank was 690 miles, and now I only work three days a week. the fill-up yesterday should last a while.
Hi All: All local this week so I refueled at the lowest price station in all of North San Diego County. Again. 09-01-2025 - Oceanside, CA - Mohsen - $4.059 Just four days later, I was called out in the early morning and the local Costco's up in the OC were at $4.099 and up. The local Mohsen was the best around at 04:059. 3.99 is just a dream now in southern CA. After the pickup in San Diego, I had just enough to make it to Oceanside. DTE of negative 14-miles. The rated 11.4 gallon tank still had just under a gallon left if its rated capacity is real after my std. top off? 09-04-2025 - Oceanside, CA - Mohsen - $4.059 Wayne
Hi All: I am heading back to Nashville but not without a California sunset in Carlsbad, CA before leaving early the following morning. I had a little over half a tank and could make it to either Yuma or Mohave Valley, AZ, just across the border from Needles, CA to refuel. To show the fuel price differential between the Mobil, Chevron, and Shell in Needles, CA and Thalypo in Mohave Valley just 2.3 miles away, look at this Gas Buddy screenshot grabbed just minutes before refueling. Less than half the price just across the Colorado river! Thalypo was the lowest price fuel stop I found along either the I40 or I-8 to I-10 to I-40 route all the way across AZ! Definitely a top off as I had to make it to Albuquerque for under $3.00 per gallon fuel while heading east down the 40. 09-07-2025 - Mohave Valley, AZ - Thalypo - $2.879 Wayne
Hi All: When I arrived at a Sam's Club in Albuquerque, I had about 1/4 of a tank so only need another two gallons to make it to Amarillo where the next "sort of" low fuel prices were ahead. 09-08-2025 - Albuquerque, NM - Sam's Club - $2.869 The drive to Amarillo paid off with the following: 09-08-2025 - Amarillo, TX - Love's - $0.10/gal discount off the app deal for $2.479 With less than a quarter of a tank, I needed < 2-gallons to make it to Oklahoma City, OK where fuel is slightly cheaper so I added 3 and we were off. I am parked at a hotel in Oklahoma City right now and see a Sam's Club just east of OKC for $2.399 where I will fill up in the morning on our way to Nashville tomorrow. Arkansas appears to be a bit more expensive and will refuel at a Costco just east of Memphis when I get there tomorrow afternoon. Plans anyway? Wayne
Hi All: As described, a Sam's Cub just a few miles north of OKC was offering a gallon of liquid gold for $2.399. 09-09-2025 - Midwest City, OK - Sam's Club - $2.399. Definitely a top off here at the lowest price fuel along the 40. The next station was a not as planned as I was called to move medical from Little Rock to Nashville on my way into "The Rock", a modern name chosen to replace the former "City of Roses" and pay tribute to the "little rock" outcropping that French explorer Bernard de La Harpe named "La Petite Roche" in 1722. How about that addition to a Fuel Price report? Given the under 6-hour time constraint to cover the 350-mile trek, I was unable to refuel at the Sam's Club in East Memphis at $2.559 that I had planned prior to the short notice job. The Love's in East Memphis was right off the 40, reasonable for Arkansas, and no line... 09-09-2025 - West Memphis, AR - Love's - $0.10/gal discount off the app deal for $2.559. Wayne
Hi All: I still had 3/4 of a tank but thought it was a good time to top her off for whatever may be ahead. 09-11-2025 - Nashville, TN - Sam's Club - $2.699 Wayne
Hi All: A quick run down to Montgomery the other day allowed me to cherry pick the lowest price station on the way back home. This time, in Northern Alabama. 09-17-2025 - Falkville, AL - Love's - $0.10/gal discount off the app deal for $2.539. The Nashville area is up in the $2.65 to $3.25 range and I am not sure why? Especially given the switch on the 15th to lower cost winter fuel formulations. Tomorrow I am headed up to the IL/WI border and I suspect a refuel in Elizabethtown, KY in the low $2.50 range just before before Louisville, as IN is in the $2.80 + range, IL is much higher and even north eastern WI is in the $2.80 range while heading up the 65 towards Chicago. Wayne
Sunday fueled up at Quik Trip in Longmont CO, $2.549. Always a price war at this Exit off I25. I should make it my only source, it's $3.309 in Boulder, and $2.899 at my Longmont Costco. Quik Trip is only 6 miles further.
