    Hi Edwin:

Is that higher than you have been paying recently? Seems a touch high for IL given the $3.77 per I picked up in Ontario, CA two days ago?

Spikes are easily hidden when you don't fill up very often. ;) Now Wayne, though, sees multiple changes in a day! :)

If anyone has a Sheetz station near them, starting at midnight their fuel is going to be $1.776. Best to go at night, as one year I waited about 30 minutes to fillup.

EDIT: I must have seen an old post, because I just came from Sheetz and they're not doing it this year.

    Hi Al:

Any time I am heading into Orange County or LA county from San Diego, I refuel if I need it or not. The $0.50/gallon price differential is real. This time, a Costco just outside of Hyundai's US HQ in Fountain Valley. Even with the $0.016/gal gas tax hike, $3.759 in California is a pretty good deal. ;)

    Hi All:

Another short run to the OC and I did not have enough fuel late in the early AM to make it so I had to add a gallon at a Mohsen in Oceanside, CA.

And onto the OC where I could top off at another lower priced station just a few hours later.

    Hi All:

And just like that, another trip back across the country...

First stop, the lowest price fuel in Northern AZ was at a Love's in Kingman vs the Thaylpo in Mojave Valley, just across from Needles.

To get to Kingman however, I took a part of the road less taken. That is Route 66 into Oatman, AZ and out to Kingman. The road is barely a road anymore and switchbacks its way into the mountains but every time I have been there, the Burro's are always glad to see me. Especially when I bring carrots. ;)

    07-08-2025 - Kingman, AZ - Love's - $2.789 w/ the $0.10 off/gal Love's App discount deal.

I added just enough fuel to make it to Albuquerque, NM With an overnight there, a fill-up where it makes sense obviously.

    07-09-2025 - Albuquerque, NM - Costco - $2.559.

I added just enough fuel to make it to Amarillo, TX since fuel there was less expensive. The normal strategy.

    07-09-2025 - Amarillo, TX - Love's - $2.339 w/ the $0.10 off/gal Love's App discount deal.

While in Amarillo, Marian and I stopped in at the new Bucky's. Clean restrooms adn some of th4e best gas station food you will ever eat. Trust me for Bucky's virgin's, you must go or at least add it to your bucket list. And while there, their std. E10 86 was a bit more expensive to the Love's a few miles up the road on the 40, I did get to check out their E0 pumps and fuel prices.

    07-09-2025 - Amarillo, TX - Buc-ee's - 86 and 91 Octane E0 for $2.749 and $3.409 respectively.

We are currently parked at a hotel in Oklahoma City, OK with fuel prices around me in the $2.349 to $2.399 range. I will be topping off from here on out as fuel prices in Little Rock, adn Memphis, TN are in the $2.50 to $2.60 range... And $2.55 to $2.80 range in Nashville.

    Hi All:

The final push home began with a refuel at a Sam's Club in Oklahoma City, OK...

    07-10-2025 - Oklahoma City, OK - Sam's Club $2.349.

And the final top off in Memphis since Nashville is generally higher...

    07-10-2025 - Memphis, TN - Sam's Club $2.549.

I was surprised to find fuel costs in Oklahoma City slightly more than those in Amarillo and am really disappointed that Nashville prices overall are about $0.15 to $0.25/gallon more than Memphis and $0.35 and $0.50 more than OKC and Amarillo.

While here in Nashville, I have already consumes 81% from a full charge and am fully charged for another local drive. Electricity here is $0.16/kWh vs gasoline at $2.689 at a somewhat nearby Sam's Club near BNA compares like this.

    Electricity: $0.16/kWh /(33 miles/6.2 kWh charge) = $0.03/mile
    Gasoline
    : $2.689/gal / 70 mi/gal = $0.038/mile

Driving on the plug as much as possible in Nashville makes sense vs no electric driving outside of hybrid activity in California.

As most know, San Diego, CA electricity rates of $0.525/kWh are so upside down that the same calculation yields $0.097/mi on Electricity vs the higher fuel prices ($3.90/gal on average currently) yielding a much more affordable $0.557/mi on Gasoline.

Just filled up Grandpa's car this weekend at the Exxon station down the street from my office. $2.889. Cheapest gas in my town by far.

Is that the lowest you have seen in a while as TN just experienced a $0.25/gallon jump across the state despite Crude not moving outside of that tight $65/bbl band.

    Hi All:

I had to run to Ashville, NC the other night and was able to travel the still in progress rebuild of the I40 just after the TN line in NC. It is a mess but there are hundreds of thousands of construction trucks on site still repairing from Hurricane Helene's destruction in late September of last year. Still one lane through the 10 miles or so of rebuild but it was early on a Saturday morning so I thought truck traffic to be light. Going in, it was. Coming back, maybe 20 minutes of slow down but not bad. A major interstate with just 2-lanes for both directions is bound to cause trouble and it still is.

As stated previously, with longer runs, I am able to cherry pick the hell out of fuel prices along a given route. In this case, a Love's just east of Knoxville, TN in Dandridge, TN was the winner with a $2.349 after the Love's $0.10 discount deal. I am going to refuel again at the same station on the way back as shown.

There was a Love's 140 miles up the 40 and just 70 miles from home that was offering fuel for $2.359 so that was my final top off as fuel is much higher in Nashville than the lower prices available to the east all the way top the TN/NC border. NC is higher so stay away form them as much as possible.

    Hi All:

Using a similar strategy for a run down to Montgomery the other day... What is the lowest price along route and refuel there open both the outbound and top off inbound as Nashville is higher than the the surrounding suburbs and Alabama is unusually high as they used to be less expensive than TN. Not any more that I saw down to at least Birmingham anyway?

Pretty much. Costco/Sams Club prices have been close, but for some reason that Exxon drops their price super cheap, holds it there for a bit, then bumps it back up. I've noticed that station do that several times over the past few months. That station was at 2.899 for about 10 days. About 2 days ago it jumped up to 2.999. Its still cheaper than the other stations in town, Even Wawa and Sheetz are at least 25 cents higher.

I've noticed that here. There is an Exxon in Elk Grove that I sometimes use, and today it is at $3.239
while most of the other stations ar $3.60-$3.70.

What really gets me is the Exxon was at 2.899 for a week to 10 days. The Sunoco a block away stayed at 3.299.
