    Hi All:

And an immediate turnaround back to Nashville, TN. I had a job that sent me to Pomona, CA so up the 15 and onto the 40 it was. No shot for that Phoenix retailer so I did the next best thing on my route.

    11-22-2024 - Albuquerque, NM - Sam's Club - $2.489 <-- A nickel more than just 3 days prior.

And this is where the special guest came in. ;) World, meet our Golden Retriever named Rocky. Rocky Pup, meet world. This is my Grandsons' pup posing at Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX. I said I would bring him to TN for Thanksgiving since they were coming out for the same. I arrived yesterday afternoon and they flew in a few hours later.

As posted previously, Cadillac Ranch is an iconic public art installation located just west of Amarillo, TX. Created in 1974 by the art collective Ant Farm, the installation features a row of ten vintage Cadillacs buried nose-first into the ground at an angle, with their tail fins sticking up in the air. These cars span the evolution of the Cadillac's tail fin from 1949 to 1963, showcasing the changing design trends of the era. The installation was funded by Amarillo billionaire Stanley Marsh and is situated along the 40 and historic Route 66, making it a popular roadside attraction for travelers and art enthusiasts alike.

Unlike many traditional art installations, visitors are encouraged to participate by adding their own creative touch to the cars. Over the years, layers of graffiti have transformed the vehicles into ever-changing canvases of vibrant colors and eclectic designs. This constantly evolving artwork reflects the spirit of self-expression and creativity, inviting each new generation of visitors to leave their mark. As a result, Cadillac Ranch has become a symbol of artistic freedom and a testament to the power of public art. Unfortunately, the tens of thousands of cans of spray paint is oozing off the vehicles making for not so much a work of art but fast becoming an eyesore imho.

Cadillac Ranch serves as a playful commentary on the American automobile industry and the cultural obsession with cars during the mid-20th century. It highlights the juxtaposition of consumerism and creativity, turning discarded vehicles into a meaningful work of art. Cadillac Ranch continues to captivate visitors from around the world, standing as a testament to the enduring impact of unconventional art and the power of community engagement.

    11-23-20 - Bartlett, TN just east of Memphis - Sam's Club - $2.369

With a short job to the Nashville AP (BNA) this morning, I only needed a few gallons to top off while completing the entire RT off the plug. The Sam's Club I pass by on the way and back was sporting a price of just $2.429. I topped her off and that is how she is parked in the garage on the plug heading to 100% SOC while I wait for the next work call to parts unknown.

    HI All:

I had to run down to Atlanta late last night and with Sam's and Costco's closed along the way and on the way back early this morning, the T-Mobile Tuesday's (now T-Life)/Fuel Rewards, $0.20/gal discount came in handy. This Shell was located a few miles west of Chattanooga, TN and it was a lot more expensive in Georgia so I topped her off with 7-gallons and she is once again sitting in the garage with half a tank. Sometimes these discount deals come in really handy as the local Sam's Club is down to $2.349 but I did not have enough fuel to make it from Nashville, to Atlanta, and back to Nashville on a half a tank in the hopes of filling up tomorrow morning.

    Hi All:

I had some BNA AP work this morning and low and behold, they have free ChargePoint L2s inside. I added 34% over ~ 40-minutes so that was a freebie.

Next up, pull up, fill up, drive away with a smile on your face. :) My local Sam's Club has been offering this price/gal for a few days now.

    Hi All:

Another day, another few dollars in the tank. This time, in the RAV4 HEV as I had some errands and ran her down to almost DTE=0 to add fresh fuel. With today's T-Mobile Tuesday/T-Life and the Fuel Rewards card, I had a $0.20/gal discount. In Nashville, everything has jumped up by almost $0.25/gallon in the past 36-hours. I found a Shell at $2.699 and ran it down to $2.499 for a 14-gallon fill.

    12-03-2024 - Antioch, TN - Shell - $2.499

Next up, I had a run out to Chattanooga and prices there had jumped up the same $0.25/gal. Knoxville and Memphis are still showing in the low $2.30s range for the time being but I was not heading to either of those. The lowest priced station between Nashville and Chattanooga was a Love's about 35-miles Southeast of Nashville. I refueled on the way back with the $0.10/gal Love's App discount.

    12-03-2024 - Christiana, TN - Love's - $2.379

    Hi All:

I had some local work and while down near Mt Juliet, TN, I found a Costco that has not raised their prices like every other station near me. Even that local Sam's Club in Nashville that was at $2.349 5 days ago is now up to $2.709 since yesterday morning.

    12-04-2024 - Mt Juliet, TN - Costco - $2.319

I only had enough cap to get in just over a gallon but it is always great to see a local retailer not screwing around like everyone else in the area.

    Hi All:

And another cross-country trek back to CA for Christmas. Or was it the jobs out of Memphis to Tulsa, OKC to Albuquerque, or a short one in Phoenix and San Diego?

You are going to see a lot of Love's since they are 1. usually right off the main Interstates and 2. the company is being ultra-aggressive with its pricing plus the $0.10/gal off in the app. I wonder what is going on internally as they push for more and more market share.

First stop, a Love's in West Memphis, AR. There were less expensive stations by a few cents, but they were miles off my route to pick up in Memphis. Love's once again for the win.

    12-05-2024 - West Memphis, AR - Love's - $2.499
    .

Knowing OKC has some of the lowest prices in the country outside of maybe Houston, I added enough in West Memphis, AR just to get there. And it was close. I arrived at a hotel in OK with DTE at --- or 0 miles. The Love's was just 4.5 miles down the 40 so this worked out as planned. :D

    Yup. ;)

    12-06-2024 - Oklahoma City OK - Love's - $2.119

Another $2.119/gal fill and this is a different Love's than I was refueling at a few weeks back... Next stop, Amarillo for a few more gallons to top off as prices will be rising quickly the further west we go.

    12-06-2024 - Amarillo, TX - Love's - $2.159

    12-06-2024 - Albuquerque, NM - Love's - $2.399

We stopped at a relative's home in the Phoenix area and while coming back from PHX, there was a Love's at $2.69 minus the $0/10 off per gallon app deal. Most of Phoenix was in the $3.20 to $3.30 per gallon range and this Love's just southwest of DT Phoenix was blowing everyone out including local Sam's Club's and Costco's in the $2.99/gal range.

    12-07-2024 - Tolleson, AZ - Love's - $2.599

The following day, I topped her off again with less than a gallon at the same Love's since it was going to ride quickly as I headed toward CA.

    12-08-2024 - Tolleson, AZ - Love's - $2.599

And while prices climb when heading west, you top off every few hundred miles at higher and higher prices. Just before crossing into CA, a final top off below $3/gal for the foreseeable future...

    12-08-2024 - Quartzite, AZ - Love's - $2.789

As I was heading towards Carlsbad, CA, Orange and Riverside County fuel stations were about $0.50/gal less than what you can purchase fuel in San Diego County so yet another short mile top off to grab the last $3.50'ish refuel while also stopping at a Jersey Mike's for a quick bite.

    12-08-2024 - Palm Desert, CA - Love's - $3.529

And now that I am parked in the drive down about 1.5 gallons from topped off, it is going to get painful. This morning I saw a station in Oceanside at $3.899 if paying in cash and that is a long way from sub $2.50 I was used to in the Nashville area for the past two months or so. Remember that the Nashville area experienced a $0.30 to $0.35/gal jump in price less than a week ago while both Knoxville and Memphis prices were steady with pricing still below $2.50/gallon. Who knows what is in store going forward but be prepared for some swings despite the price of oil not really moving much and parked $2 below the $70 mark at close today.

    Hi All:

Although I am in a 2024 Toyota bZ4X Limited this week, I received a call to pickup an aircraft part from Chula Vista, CA, drive it to LAX, fly with it to Orlando, fly back to LAX, and drive back to Carlsbad, CA. The Prius Prime's much longer legs made this a no brainer. When I got back, I refueled at a Sam's Club about 10-miles from LAX for what I thought was a great price for CA.

    12-11-2024 - Gardena, CA - Sam's Club - $3.459

The following day, I need to refuel the Sonata HEV at the nearby Costco. It was a lot more expensive and this is one of the lower costs refueling spots in all of San Diego County. It was almost double what I paid for a gallon of liquid gold in Oklahoma City, OK just a week ago for $2.119. See above's 12-06-2024 entry.

    Hi Bill:

Good to see sub $3.00 out there!!!

To end off the year, three more.

This next one was stacked with deals. $0.10/gal for cash and $0.20/gal for the T-Mobile/Fuel Rewards discount for a $3.69 price tag in ultra expensive, San Diego County. The station like most Shell's is a step above some of the lesser known brands.

    Hi All:

    And into the new year...

01-03-2025 - Hawthorne, CA - Costco - $3.579. Fuel near LAX is actually affordable for California.

    01-13-2025 - Oceanside, CA - Mohsen - $3.929.

    01-17-2025 - Tustin, CA - Costco - $3.899.

And with the new year, possibly higher prices as fuel across the country appears to have increased between $0.10 and $0.020/gal over the past two weeks.
