    Hi Rossbro and Litesong:

Prices spiked and came right back down as soon as Beryl was over Houston. Imagine that! :(

Ours seemed to go up $.20. ( $4.199 ) I won't need to buy fuel until Tuesday, so maybe it
    will go down again.

Same here. As of this morning, I'm on 1/8 of a tank, That's about 1 1/2 gallons - and that should get me through to early next week.

Sometimes when I'm out food shopping, I look at the gallons of milk in the display cooler and think of how far I can travel on one gallon of fuel. I can drive out to the Hamptons or to Bridgeport CT or to Asbury Park NJ. Switch from hybrid into a "hemi" (Henpecked Emasculated Male Inside) and you barely make it to Michell Field - where Lindbergh departed for France back in the 1920s - on that same gallon.

Tho I don't have a hybrid, my walking has cut down on my gas consumption. I mean....really really.

I wonder how far I can travel on a gallon of milk.

The internet - an entirely fact-based indisputable resource - reports that a gallon of whole milk is 2400 calories, and it says a 150 pound person burns 100 calories per mile at an average pace (2.5mph), so figure 24 miles per gallon.
Probably a bit less if loaded with five passengers and luggage, though.

The milk will allow you to travel further, if you ride a bicycle.....maybe 500 to 1000 miles if your bio-engine is tuned properly & travel on a flat road. Less if you travel in the mountains or in Death Valley. Your bio-engine is complex. Other elements & substances will be necessary for your bio-carburetor.

Even farther on banana peels or any accessible garbage.....maybe even spoiled milk.
Oh, yeah. Talking about edibles(combustibles?). Had a good free lunch today. BBQ pork sandwich (cold on this hot day). Also, came with a small orange AND a very good custard donut. Haven't had a CD in years. Yeah, yeah, I know. The pork & donut were not recommended by my doctor. Did I say, they tasted good....& were FREE.

    Hi All:

Gasoline prices have been swinging hard here in the Nashville area the past week. I have seen the local Sam's drop to as low as $2.929 just two days ago and today it was up to $3.159. I was sitting on a $0.20/gal T-Mobile T-Life weekly deal on Fuel Rewards so the $3.259/gal Shell just down the street from the Sam's Club was less expensive at $3.059. Better fuel and a lower price. Yup, I will take that deal of the day. ;)
