    Hi All:

While only there for just over a week and most certainly not fuel price related, there is something about a California, Pacific Ocean sunset that cannot be duplicated anywhere else. The unworldly mild year-round Mediterranean like climate does not hurt either. ;)

    Hi All:

And than we have California... I refueled 3 times at this station while there since it was one of the lowest cost in all of San Diego County.

    Hi Litesong:

This is not bragging, it is crossing the country and the prices I paid along the way.

    Hi All:

While in CA, I was fortunate to have visited a small Hispanic family-owned shop that restores rare and historic collectible posters ranging from movies to political announcements. These restorations are not of posters but print on canvas from a bygone era. All I can say is wow. The owner’s daughter gave me a quick nickel tour and what I saw in the shop to be restored, what was being restored, and what was completed was truly amazing.

    Hi All:

First stop after leaving paradise, Phoenix, AZ. The Yuma Maverik and Love’s were up to $3.769 vs their $2.699 price from 10-days prior, so I skipped. While passing through Goodyear along the 10 WB, I saw a Chevron for $3.489. I should have jumped on that one! Instead, I waited until the following morning and refueled with a few gallons at this Arco for a lot more. If only...

    Hi All:

Just over a week later and the same Maverik in Gallup, NM, $0.10/gal higher. A normal variation not due to really anything more than likely. ;)

But first, one the way up to Flagstaff, there was first rain, then sleet, then flurries, and then pea sized SNOWBALLS coming down as shown in the next three pics. There was even heavier snow the higher we climbed and thunder snow soon after the snowballing too.

    Hi All:

And then the final 950-mile push to Nashville...

    03-25-2024 - Amarillo, TX - Sam's Club, $2.999

    03-25-2024 - Oklahoma City, OK - VP Racing - $2.949

    03-25-2024 - Little Rock, AR - Sam's Club - $2.939

I am still at just under 1/4 of a tank after almost a week in Nashville and prices to the south east in Smyrna and La Vergne, TN are still slightly below $3.00 per but just barely. Most stations are around $3.15 per around my area just south of Nashville.

Oh, Wayne. You know I don't care if you find gasoline at low prices. Its just that I have to complain about the Pacific Northwest, since the oil reduction from Alaska, we pay so much more per gallon than other regions around the country. & man, paying $1+ more per gallon is stinky.

    Hi All:

My first refuel in Nashville since arriving. The night we arrived, this Sam's Club was at $3.089. It was falling a penny or two every other day until finally it fell below the $3.00 per mark. I was at just 1/8 of a tank and needed to refuel badly so here it is.

I did see a Shell near La Vergne, TN at $2.99 on Saturday which is $2.949 with the Fuel Rewards Card but I was on the job and had no time to stop.

I just filled up my lil' spaceship last Saturday (3/30) at my usual Shell station. Cash price for 87 was a reasonable 3.099. The local supermarket chain offers 10 cents a gallon off at Shell for every $100 you spend at the supermarket. So I ended up paying $2.499 a gallon. I don't think that's bad at all.

    Hi All:

I had to refuel yesterday and finding under $3.00/gallon anywhere in the Nashville area is all but impossible. Memphis, parts of AR, OK, TX, AL, LA, and MS are still under $3.00 if that helps?

    04-11-2024 - Nashville, TN - Sam's Club - $3.229

That price is up almost $0.25/gallon from the refuel at the same location just 10-days ago.

Do they use "winter gas" in the Nashville area? I have been seeing the same sudden boost in the last week or two and I was thinking it's the hiccup in the flow due to the seasonal change from winter gas to summer gas.

    Hi Chris:

The refiners are in the process of switching over but the stations will not/do not have to be fully changed over until June 1. California is the only state that swaps over early. Because Memphis is still showing many stations below $3.00 per gallon, I think it may be a TN city region based increase?

Washington state shows many stations OVER $4 per gallon. Some.....WAY over $4 per gallon. If I drive a while, I might get gas under $4. Me? I continue to walk. My tennierunner cost per 1000 miles is low, since I got free "NEW" shoes that fit me. Yes, pure white, shoe strings still tied as if they just came out of the box, & not 1 mark, even on the shoe soles.....the shoes found in a garbage can.

The stations could be increasing in anticipation of higher costs.

    Hi Trollbait:

More than likely, it is the price of oil itself heating up that is causing the gasoline price rise. Look at the following 1-year WTI futures contract price chart.

Despite Trollbait making excuses for oil executives, Wayne's chart continues to show why I am walking. Also, Washington state, west of the Cascades, ISN'T getting any dips in the prices of gasoline due to imaginary drops in oil prices.
