Yes, another county Costco has a steamingly high price of $3.999 per gallon. Costco stations in western Washington are all over the map......a very high map!

However, a crazy high station near me, is selling gasoline for $4.799 a gallon! A station in next door southern Idaho, is selling gas for $2.599 per gallon.

    I continue to walk.

As if to prove they really MEAN their prices, after 5 days, the ridiculously high Washington state gas prices.....remain the same ridiculously high prices! Yeah, they are very MEAN.
Meanwhile, the small price in next-door Idaho, drops some more.....TO $2.519 per gallon.

Well....some Washington state gas is down towards $3 per gallon.....but that's over in Eastern Washington. Nearby gas around me is still locked into $4 per gallon. There is a Costco four towns over selling for $3.169 per gallon.
I think I'll keep walking.....when I recover a bit more. Yes, I'm only driving 1 mile or less. Hope I can walk the distance AND back to the apt., some time next week. We'll see.

Whoa! Wasn't trying for anything difficult, but I did walk 3.9 miles today. Considering I was wibble-wobbling 10 days ago, I'm not doing half bad. Walking the bottomland encouraged me. I can feel that medications are affecting me. I'll keep it down to 3 miles per day. But, I can walk to the Senior Center & library, now.

Walked to the library & back, 1.8 miles. I'll try to keep it at that distance for any individual walk-about. The 3.9 total miles for yesterday, may have been a bit too much.

PS, 2-8-2024:..... Yesterday, 2-7-2024 I walked another total 3.9 miles & that was good. Had very excellent baked beans & other foods at the Church dinner. Even had a third of a hot dog, which I'm not supposed to have.

Gas continues as mentioned, except now a Costco "only" 80miles away (not in Eastern Washington) is down to $3.

Wow. I filled up earlier this week in the eastern suburbs of NYC and paid 2.929. Filled up for $27. I guess Cruella DeVille up in Albany is keeping prices down to avoid getting the boot.

Well, only one Washington state Costco had gas for as low as $3 for the last 2 weeks AND $3 for this morning. Well, I went to fill up this afternoon there, & sure enough, the price wasn't $3, it was $3.099. So our gas wasn't yo-yoing. It just goes up, when I'm about to buy gasoline. I don't know HOW they know WHEN I'm going to buy gasoline.....but they KNOW.

    Hi All:

I am finishing up the California Fuel Price details and here is the final two weeks of December in San Diego and Orange County. Even with the falling prices through the end of January, you can see that wherever you are, you experience far lower prices... But first, a possible fuel "Cost" saving strategy for some that may have a lot of Roadie requests in their area. Litesong, would this help you as a "Hot Deal"?

What you are looking at above is a number of Roadie App and Gas Buddy screenshot and a Costco fuel price screenshot showing my refueling destination. This includes an offer I picked up to reduce my fuel cost.

The upper left screenshot shows me located at my home where to the Blue Dot is and the offer is an $11.44 CVS pharmacy delivery offer that is almost directly along my path to the Costco in Vista, CA on 12/16/2024. You can see the Costco gasoline price of $4.13 and its location on the Gas Buddy screenshot in the upper right screenshot and that is where I needed to go to refuel. The lower left screenshot shows that the offer was accepted and the lower right, the Costco gas station price I needed to go to.

In other words, I waited until a Roadie offer came in that paid me for driving along my path from home to the gas station AND the request paid a significant portion - $11.44 in this case, of the $35.00 refuel that I incurred. The delivery route added 2.3 miles to my route and an additional 13-minutes over what it would have been if I had just driven directly to the Costco as shown.

Yes, there is a cost in time, miles, and a small tax liability but this is how I have been subsidizing - read. reducing, my fuel costs in the California region for the past two months. There is also an insurance question. I am running with Commercial Delivery insurance which covers me on requests like this. A normal layperson is not covered under the details of their auto insurance but since you were driving to the gas station, that one is up to you in case of an accident.

PS: The 11.2 miles in total from my home to the CVS, to the delivery location, to the gas station, and return to my home can be written off at $0.70/mile or $7.84, which creates a tax liability of your Fed and state tax rates * the $3.60 I earned from this request.

    Hi All:

And the first half of January, 2024 in California from San Diego to San Francisco and even one refuel in Yuma, AZ which was significantly lower than the CA refuel prices. And all for under $4.00 per including every refuel in CA over the last week of January. ;)

    Hi All:

And to close out January in California, there were numerous refuels under $4.00 per gallon in Orange, LA, and Imperial counties.

    01-22-2024 - Fountain Valley, CA - Costco - $3.779

    01-28-2024 - Woodland Hills, CA - Costco - $3.899

As we moved into February, prices began to rise in CA and nationwide. I was heading back to Chicago for the Chicago Auto Show Press Days so I said goodbye to the high CA fuel prices vs the rest of the country outside of OR and WA state.

    Hi All:

This Sam's Club in Nashville just two miles from BNA was running at $2.979 for the past 3 or 4 days. Today the price dropped to $2.929 on the sign and just $2.909 on the pump when I got to it this evening. Except all the pumps were outputting about .5-gallons per minute. I stopped after 1 minute and will refuel another day.
