Watching Lord of the Rings ending & the Volcano is blowing up! hot hot hot......Over 50degF at 48+ deg. latitude here at 9PM, in our coastal lands west of the Cascade Mountains. As is often the case, Arctic cold moving south is shunted southeast by the Rocky Mountains & blocked by the mountains of BC, Canada & the Cascade Mountains. Warmth (& rain) is provided by the warm Pacific Ocean westerlies, often coming from Hawaii & further south.

Since the kids bought a house and moved out , I finally got my garage back !
I've been putting the car in there for the last month. It's not a LOT warmer than outside ,
but no frost or snow to clear off in the mornings.

I like the sound of that!

We had lower teens (F) overnight and the garage temp this morning was around freezing. Unheated garage...

My garage is attached to the house , but not heated or insulated. According to the Prius thermometer , the garage is about
20 deg warmer than outside. Things will freeze in there at times. Times like the last few days.

I took a nice sub-300 mile trip to sunny eastern WA, which gets less rainfall than soaked western WA. The gasoline price difference of 70cents/gal., between local & distant e.WA. stations, is outrageous, & never has been that great in 50 years. While in e.WA., I filled the car gas tank & gas cans, saving bunches of money.
