Today , 69 deg F in Naperville , 66 in Wood Dale and Toronto. I haven't said much about wind these past few weeks.
It's either neglible or barely noticeable. Yes, I know this is the Windy City.
    35.0 miles , 64.2 MPG.
    Tank is at 529.5 miles , 132 remaining , 66.4 MPG.
On the way home yesterday , I took scenic route #2 , the shortest and one of the most efficient routes.
But because SOMEWHERE in the Chicago area , 2 or 3 drops of rain fell , traffic was gridlocked. The first hour , I covered 9.3 miles.
It's about 22 miles to the Planet Fitness in Naperville. At about 50 minutes into that mess , with two bars SOC , the engine lit up and ran for
almost four minutes ( I may have covered 75 meters in that time. ) Ouch. After it got back up to three bars , the engine shut off again.
Shortly after that , I was able to get off THAT horrible road onto a familiar detour road. But all this time derailed my schedule enough
that I skipped my workout and went straight home. At one point (9.1 miles) the MPG dropped down to 47 fcd. By the time I got home ,
I nursed it back up to 68.9 MPG (fcd). For that route , with no stops , it should have been more like 76-78.

I remember when driving was fun.

    Today , 61 deg F in Naperville , 62 in Wood Dale . 60 in Toronto.
    35.1 miles ( not 35.0) , 63.7 MPG. Tank is at 596.7 miles , one pip , 59 miles remaining , 66.5 MPG
Most likely filling tomorrow morning. I recently found out that my new favorite gas station (Amoco at Ogden and Raymond
in Naperville ) not only has free air , but they also have free vacuums that really suck !

    I filled up Sat morning Aug 24. I think the price for 87 E10 was $2.899 , but I didn't record it.
    I did record this : 648.3 miles , fcd = 69.9 MPG x 0.956 = 66.8 MPG. 648.3 / 9.712 gallons
= 66.75 MPG (sorry,Bill). My 0.956 multiplier is pretty close.
I know these numbers can't compare to my summer 2018 #'s , but I had a considerably different
commute then. Looking forward to the time when I might drive 5K miles a year , instead of 25K.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for my absence since my trip last week. I got back last Tuesday night (8/20) around midnight and realized I made a 10-second error that cost me ~$270... I left my house keys (and other keys, except the Prius C keyfob) at my parents house. Ended up staying at local hotel, hiring a locksmith the next morning, etc. :( Luckily I had a set of spare house keys, but it was in the Geo's glove compartment which was locked in the garage. I've since made several duplicates and keep at least two sets on me at all times.

Anyway, been pulling okay numbers on average since I got back. Now that school is back in session, traffic seems to have taken a turn for the worse. This may be just coincidence, but I seem to find drivers more aggressive on average towards the Prius C than the Geo...

Case in point, yesterday evening I had a JOTD event. It's about 6:45pm, I'm coming down a gentle slope on a 3-lane each direction highway, right-most lane ridge riding. Traffic is fairly heavy in all lanes, but moving fairly quickly (PSL is 50 or 55 mph) I was lucky there wasn't anyone behind me for a while so I took the opportunity to accel without the ICE and got into a glide about 35 mph or so (I know it's slow, but there was a red light up ahead and another right lane joining soon, which I was about to merge into). All of a sudden I see this white (Infinity I think) SUV or CUV rapidly approaching, blasts the horn and moves one lane over. About 30 seconds later, we're both at the stoplight, the driver has his windows down and proceeds to throw some small object at my car (a pebble or bottle cap or something). Luckily I had my windows up and just ignored him... no desire to escalate and risk further harm.

I've been trying to use as a general guideline maintaining enough gap behind my car so I can see the tires of the vehicle behind me, especially if the opportunity to pass is not readily available. This is of course assuming I already have plenty of room ahead of me, which is almost always the case.

Tank is at 74.0 MPG / 446.8 miles, with 3/10 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.
