The new Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus is one of the top 4 tires we recommend around these parts and there is a deal worth your utmost attention with regards to picking up a set to call your own…

While visting Wal-Mart’s in both IL and CA, I have seen a closeout/blowout of the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tire in P195/65R15 size. This normally $99 tire is going for just $49.99 at WalMart’s in those two states and surely more while supplies last. When I get back to IL in a few days, I think I will pick up a set as spares for the time the OEMs on my 18 Hyundai Elantra Eco need replacing after 100k miles or so.

    Bridegstone Ecopia EP422 Plus Tires

In 2016, Bridgestone launched its latest fuel-efficient Ecopia tire line, the Ecopia EP422 Plus tire. The Ecopia EP422 Plus tire is engineered with a combination of light and strong materials for greater fuel efficiency, giving consumers up to an extra 20 miles per tank compared to similar sized standard off the shelf tires.

With fuel prices climbing at a rate we have not seen since 2008, a clear majority of Americans are once again considering ways to stretch their transportation fuel dollars. One way to do just that is to equip your ride with a set of Ecopia EP422 Plus tires from Bridgestone. They were designed to make your car more fuel-efficient while still providing dependable all-season performance, durability, and longevity.

The Ecopia EP422 Plus features Bridgestone's NanoPro-Tech (Nanostructure-Oriented Properties Control Technology) to reduce rolling resistance and energy loss while maintaining dry, wet and wintertime traction. This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design that combines notched shoulders and intermediate ribs with independent center blocks for dry road tracking and traction. Four circumferential grooves are designed to help water flow from under the footprint to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction while notches and sipes increase the edges that bite into light snow. The tire's sidewalls feature Bridgestone's Fuel Saver compound to further increase efficiency.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon on top of a polyester casing to blend ride comfort and durability.

The Ecopia EP422 Plus tire from Bridgestone is also backed by a 70,000 mile treadwear limited warranty! It is available in 43 sizes, ranging from 15” to 18” rim diameters, and is designed to fit many of the most popular cars on the road today.

The fuel savings offered by the Ecopia EP422 Plus tire contribute to the company’s global goal to improve tire rolling resistance by 25 percent by 2020. The Ecopia tire line also moves Bridgestone closer to its long-term environmental vision of achieving a 50 percent reduction in CO2 emissions by the year 2050 and beyond.

That's a great price for that tire! I'm driving from Tucson to Idaho Falls in a couple weeks and could use new tires. Checked the price in Tucson, IF, and Salt Lake and they're $108. Marked down from $114 for my 205/55R16s. If I could get them for $50ea I would buy them today.

This sounds good. The 44 psi Yokohama rim protectors that came with my car have 65K , and they are not much good in the snow now.
If I can get a set of these now, and buy some dedicated snow tires before winter , I can put the Bridgestones on the car next spring. Hmmmm.

I believe the 195/65/15 is the size the Prius takes, so this would be a great tire for these folks.

Not that I need tires, but I could not find the deal locally. I see the usual prices.

I deleted an email from Walmart with rollbacks on tires as the subject.

One thing is bugging me about this tire: there's a US, a Mexican and a Japanese version, each with tread pattern differences, and different wear indexes. I really wish Bridgestone would rein this in: standardize the tire, regardless of country of manufacture, so that consumers know what they're getting.

Kinda like Fender Stratocaster guitars. You can get one made in China , Korea , Mexico , and USA.

How much do you want to pay to play ? I had a Mexican Telecaster once that I bought on ebay.

    It was excellent.

    Hi All:

I have not seen any of these at 3 WalMarts in the IL area since I spotted these a few months back. :(
