We've got a bottle lamb now, and I'm tired from feeding it at night. Its young mother rejected it so it's our job now.

It's always amazing to see humans step up and hand-rear abandoned animal babies. I've been watching Monkey Life/World... :)

Today , a bit chilly. Minus 3 deg F when I got to work , wind S9. 16.3 miles, no highway. It became obvious that the car didn't want to shut ICE off , even
when coolant temp was 150 F. Eventually , after 7-8 miles , the engine would shut off when car was STOPPED. I didn't try to extract any heat until then.
Needless to say , there was no P&G. 39.7 MPG for this trip.

When I pulled in early this morning, this is what I was looking at: 240+ miles including > 150-miles of inner city Chicago rideshare in temps so darn cold you do not want to be out at all.

Well, it's gotta be done. It's also one of the things that makes us Human. We have empathy and compassion, we care for others beyond just personal survival instinct.

Very true, not nice to be out at all. Funny though how even those temps don't feel so bad when it warms up to get there. Yesterday morning was really bitter here. -27*F (-47*F wind chill) Decided to wait and go to church in the evening when it warmed up. Got up to -2*F and it didn't feel too bad,:D.
    43.8 - 6.9 miles round trip.

    37.8 - 4 mi. to work this morning. -17*F (-31*F wind chill)
    51.3 - 4.7 mi. home this afternoon. -2*F
    Tank down to 45.6 - 361 mi.

Wayne, just curious, does the Elantra Eco have any factory shutters behind the grill? I assume probably not but thought I'd ask.

    Hi All:

Elantra Eco's Tank 7. Tamps from -5 to 24 degrees F and over 450 miles of downtown inner city of Chicago rideshare and 250 of it during a 12-hour snow mess. Mess was an understatement. :(

    565.9 miles on 15.636 gallons = 36.2 mpg.

Given the temps, I am not completely topping off so that is high by a few tenths.

A little warmer weather helped my mileage today, but 10 - 15 mph winds kept it feeling cold.
    40.8 - 4 mi. to work, 3*F.
    55 - 4.7 mi. home, 5*F.

Lamb slept through the night, which means I did too! That's a lot sooner than any human babies I've worked with.

    51 / 11.4 - this morning, damp and cooler at 35F

Tank is back down a tick to 50.8 / 298 mi.
