Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has dropped 3.1¢ since last week to $2.462 - this time last year it was $2.211 so it's 11.4% (+25.1¢) dearer.
Diesel is down a tiny 0.3¢ at $2.837. It's now 16.8% (+40.9¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is an increasing 15.2% premium to regular.

    E85 is down 0.6¢ to $2.038.

Really glad it's car pooler's turn for the commute this week - it was 28°F this morning and yesterday's snow was frozen solid. The lowest recorded temperature in the UK on Sunday was 11°F o_O. They are dubbing today Black Ice Monday and forecasting temperatures could drop as low as 5°F

I figured that I spelled that incorrectly. You see , I learned "American" English. We have done some strange/horrible things to your language.

And I guessed at the spelling. Another thing that Americans do. I'll include Canadians too, so puddleglum isn't excluded.

33F here this morning. I had dew on the car until I ran the wipers, then it turned to ice. ???

Tank is down to 51.6 / 140 mi, still above F.

Cool! Probably very pure water in the dew. With contaminants after wiping, it iced. Just guessing...

Gord, you got record cold and we had nearly record heat Sunday. Got to 10.2*C and record was 10.6*C. Cooler today but still mild.
Edwin, I agree we do the same thing with the language, but we do have several words that are spelled differently than in the US.
Andrew, my guess is the glass was right at the freezing point. It wasn't quite cold enough to freeze the droplets, but could freeze the thin film left from wiping, maybe?

Had to make a stop on the way to work this morning so commute was longer. 49 - 6.3 mi., 19*F.
52 - 4.7 home, 35*F. Didn't get to plug in at work today.
Tank is showing 43.7 mpg, just below 1/4 T and 443.6 miles.

Tank is at 195.9 miles , 58.4 MPG. Scenic route to Geneva tonight , to have dinner with Amy. :)

We all have those days, hope today was better. Although, your mileage when you aren't trying is better than most people's when they're doing their best. ;)

Another nearly record warm day ( It froze in the night but got to 50*F).
    45.2 - 4 mi., 34*F to work and 59.2 - 4.7 mi., 43*F coming home.

Oh I definitely get not being in the mood...

After being in the northeast for about a week and not seeing a high of over freezing for about three days, I'm glad to be South and seeing balmy high 50s.

I'm due home in about a week. Hope it won't be super cold. I grabbed a couple of weeks off and we're planning a vacation. Fuel economy won't matter to us unless my queen grants me driving privileges :D

Truck's struggled...down to 7.7mpg since I got back in it early November. Today helped with an 8.2mpg average. Still puzzling over DEF usage. Two straight fills with bad mileage (~100mpg) so I figured the cold really screws with the DEF catalyst, but my last one was back to the average (~210mpg)? And that's including a lot of the sub-freezing stuff plus a Virginia snowstorm and some Appalachian crossings...

I wonder if I chalk this up to the fact that at 437k miles, it's just getting clapped out.

Some of these very cold days , I do less P&G and more DWL , in an effort to maintain coolant temperature.
Today , I did more P&G , but glides were shorter. Tires were good a few weeks ago , but may have lost pressure since.
    24.5 deg F , wind S13. 35.1 miles , 59.43 MPG. Tank is at 275.5 miles , 58.31 MPG.
    Date with Amy went WELL.

You've got a short commute. Hard to do well with that and winter weather. Good job!

I had my first sub-50 round trip this season. Frosty this morning.
    48.7 / 5.3 - home
    49.7 / 11.5 - school and work today

Tank is down a tick to 50.6 / 201 mi.

Thanks. Cooler temps make it harder for sure, but for me this is crazy warm for December. It actually set a record yesterday, 51.3*F, warmer than I thought. Last year we were well into the minuses and high wind chills. I'll gladly take this.
Cooler today but mild. Traffic seemed more congested than usual this morning though. 42.7 - 4 mi, 19*F.
    57.9 - 4.7 mi, 36*F home.

It's the season for feeding the animals with a headlamp, and breaking the ice on the water trough. Only a skim coat of ice this time at least.

    51.1 / 5.3 - home
    51.8 / 11.4 - this morning

Tank is steady at 50.6 / 221 mi.
