Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price continues to fall, down 2.3¢ since last week to $2.471 - this time last year it was $2.224 so it's 10.1% (+22.7¢) dearer.
Diesel is down a touch to $2.724 (-0.6¢). It's now 12.7% (+30.6¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is an increasing 10.2% premium to regular.

This morning, 2UP, 64°F, 7mph cross/headwind NNW, detour due to queue at traffic light section but almost a calculated 50mpg run:
    49.9 (FCD 52.5) / 22.9

    Tank steady at 48.6 (FCD 51.2) / 455.1 / Range 310 . Guess gauge F____|_«««E . UG up 0.1 at 48.5 . DTE199

    Lost 4th pip @ 451 miles

It's the calm before the storm as the tail end of Ophelia will hit the UK later today, I'm expecting winds of 50+

Thought about you the past couple days, Gord. I saw Ophelia's track and expected strength. I do not know what you get as a bad storm on an annual basis, so I could not gauge readiness.

    Good luck!

The "park" behind my house ( really more like a flood basin) was filled with water like I have never seen in the 12.5 years I've owned the house.

It does dry up completely in the summer and winter , but Saturday-Sunday , it was a lake about 150' by 400'.

Hi , Jason. It receded considerably by Monday. Things are still green around here , trees are just starting to turn colors.
I might even need to mow the lawn again ( not ONCE in September).

Yesterday we had a strange weather phenomenon - the sun went red and the sky was yellow - apparently it was dust from the Sahara and Southern Europe!

Last night, 2UP, 66°F, the wind was pretty strong but not as bad as some parts of the country experienced (Ireland got 100mph and the loss of 3 lives), 20mph cross/tailwind SW gusting to 41, traffic quite slow in places:
    41.9 / 22.3

This morning, more traffic than normal and some stupid drivers made me brake where I normally don't have to, detour required again past the traffic light section, 54°F, slightly less windy 18mph head/crosswind WSW gusting to 33:
    47.4 / 22.9

    Tank down 0.4 at 48.2 (FCD 50.8) / 500.5 / Range 150 . Guess gauge F____|_«««E . UG down 0.3 at 48.2 / DTE150

Very interesting! Must be the right arm of Ophelia that pulled up the African air.

  11. The move slowly continues. One round trip with the cargo trailer (still half full of equipment from the self employment days). That sucked a tank down way under 20.
Tomorrow's trip is going retro-old school with a 1978 moto guzzi robin in the bed and a 1976 moto guzzi v1000 on a trailer.
5 days off work starting friday. That'll be the big push to finish the move. Only thing left in my house when it hits the market will be my bed, a tv and lawn chair in the living room, and beer - KBS, dogfish 120, vanilla been world wide stout, doom, dkml, backwoods bastard, breakfast stout, imperial stout.
I'm going to miss my Batchelor pad

Wild weather all over this fall it seems. Alberta is pretty windy today too. Wind gusts hit 62 mph here this afternoon. I was out of town working today and driving the van back with 50 mph crosswind gusts and rain was no fun. Glad I wasn't paying for the gas for that trip. Semi rolled on the highway south of town. There are three bad grass fires in southern part of the province.

    4.6 L/100 km - 6.5 km to work this morning. 43*F

'Ello everyone! Been awhile since I've checked in here. Therapy three days a week really takes the life out of me. Doesn't give me much else to do.

I didn't set a new MPG record; however I did break my own personal goal of driving more than 600 miles on one tank! This was using E15 as well!

    606.9 Miles
    375.3 EV Miles
    EV Mode %: 61.8 %
    MPG Indicated: 53.0
    49.2 MPG Actual
    Gallons Indicated: 11.44
    Gallons Actual: 12.336
    Offset: 7.2 %

Sorry to hear that, Andrew. Something's going around, especially with families. Some people I know, the entire family is sick.
