    Welcome to the grind :D

The national average gas price is up another 3.4¢ since last week to $2.368 - this time last year it was $2.214 so it's 7% (+15.4¢) more expensive.
Diesel is up to $2.536 (+4.2¢). It's now 7.5% (+17.6¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at a 7.1% premium to regular.

It's a bank holiday here in the U.K. so I went for a 64.6 mile road bike ride :) - I took a wrong turn and ended up on a mountain bike trail for a couple of miles - not great on tires less than an inch wide  - would have been fine for your Giant Edwin :p

Wish I could go for a ride, too ! But I did 24 miles yesterday with Connie , and went to the zoo with her. She's not the fastest on a bicycle , but she CAN run a marathon , which impresses me a lot. With my knees , I do NOT run.
Today , 64 deg F , wind SE3. 35.0 miles , 68.17 MPG. My weekend driving was about 70 miles , 75 MPG. Tank is at 284.8 miles , 71.24 MPG. Next week - vacation. Not going anywhere, but both my girls will be in town with their husbands. Will probably do some driving.

Busy work today. Finally getting to update here. I did some weekend driving all over town. Roughly 55 mpg / 55 miles, split across 10 trips.

57.1 / 5.2 - to work this morning. I start school dropoff duty tomorrow.
52.8 / 5.3 - out at lunch to the feed store
54.0 / 5.1 - back to work with an extra 250 lb loaded

Tank is at 54.8 / 186 mi and just below F.

Today , 60 deg F , wind WNW2. 35.0 miles , 66.59 MPG. Tank is at 353.8 miles , 69.94 MPG. It may get a little better. But going home yesterday , ran into some hellacious rain and hail. I pulled off in a parking lot that had some large trees to try to protect my car from the hail. Sat there for 15 minutes. Of course , by that time the inside of the car was all fogged up and I had to run the A/C for a while. The end result , scenic route , nerves shot , was only about 60 MPG.

Hahahaha. Edwin. All that terrible stuff, and you come out with 60. Well played.

    50.6 / 5.2 - home last night
52.6 / 11.4 - school and work this morning. My new normal.

    Tank is 54.1 / 209 mi.

wow, our kids started back to school on 8/14. 2 weeks ago here in Arkansas. Wife is taking oldest to the Junior high and the youngest is catching the bus to the middle school. They would be on the bus from our house, but they get dropped off at the nearest elementary school, then they have to get off and get on a different bus that goes to the Middle school for her and one that goes to the Junior high for him. Reverse on the way home. Weird.

That's weird? It sounds like about the same way things worked for most students when I was in junior and senior high. I was lucky enough to avoid the double bus rides most days because my parents were teachers.

Our youngest doesn't go back to school till September 7. When I lived in Scotland I used to back to school around my birthday August 22.

Took Jazz/Fit for annual service and MOT Test yesterday, 4UP:
    54.5 / 10.1
MPG dropped to 36.1 and 0.1 miles travelled when we collected it 3 hours later
    Needed 2 new tires!
    53.0 / 10.1 back home.

We used to play that game too. Drop off at the nearest school, a bus goes from there to the other one across town. Now we're doing private school so it's parent pickup and dropoff all the time, but at least they're in the same place. Public school would have us at FOUR different campuses this year now that the youngest has started.

49.7 / 7.6 - home with a detour to fill gas cans. Amazed that the price is only up 10 cents.
    58.2 / 11.4 - school and work

    Tank 54.1 / 228 mi.

Wait a week or two. $$$ Good thing we don't use a lot of fuel. Well , I guess I do ; about 6.5-7.0 gallons a week.

when we lived in Joplin MO, buses would only run to the school that you were attending. So they used more buses, but it was a one way trip with no connections. 1 high school, 3 middle schools and 12 elementary schools. Here it is 1 high school (9th+), 1 junior high (7th and 8th), 1 mid school(4th-6th) and 3 elementary schools. I guess I just have to get used to the new system (to me). Mowed the yard last night. Using the lawn tractor more than my car.

My thoughts are with those down south from now Tropical Storm Harvey. I can't imagine what they are going through. Gas is going up to around $2.50 a gallon. Went to the cheapest place in my area, BP. I never go there! I was hoping to get to 600 miles on one tank of gas, I was so close! If only I had driven around the neighborhood a few more times ;)

    Trip Miles: 595.2
    EV Miles: 370.4
    EV Mode: 62.2 %
    MPG Indicated: 52.4
    Gallons Indicated: 11.34
    Gallons Used: 11.700
    Offset: 3%
    Used two-click method for fill-up

    Actual MPG: 50.88
    Best tank ever! :D

Today , 65 deg F wind NNE10 (ouch). 35.0 miles , 65.66 MPG. Tank is at 455.0 miles , 70.4 MPG. Scenic route home last night helped : no highway , two stops , 34.4 miles , 76.45 MPG. Going to a party in Wisconsin Saturday , fuel economy will suffer. I may "cheat" and fill up Sat AM on the way to work. I'm sure that Labor Day and Harvey pricing will be in full effect , but......it's still ridiculously cheap.

Still unseasonably cool here, 80F home last night, 70 this morning. Clouds are clearing.

    53.9 / 5.3 - home last night
    54.6 / 11.4 - school and work this morning

Tank is up a tenth to 54.2 / 245 mi.

Today , 57 deg F , wind E9 ( ouch). 35.0 miles , 62.78 MPG. I think there may be more than a headwind that's hurting me. I need to check tire pressure today. Tank is at 524.1 miles , 69.94 MPG. At least the wind from the east helped me on the ( highway) trip home yesterday :33.9 miles , 72.35 MPG.

Tire pressure is a big thing. I noticed mine were low when I failed to coast all the way to a certain stop sign. I hit my mark a quarter mile back at 35 mph, but came up short. Now that I pumped them back up (from 40 to 60), I can do that from 32 mph easily, probably even 30 mph.

    54.3 / 5.3 - home last night
    62.3 / 5.3 - out to band practice
    62.1 / 5.3 - home
    57.4 / 11.5 - school and work this morning

Tank is up nicely 0.4 to 54.6 / 279 mi.
