The most powerful and efficient F-150 yet. James Davis – CleanMPG – Aug. 9, 2017 Ford’s refreshed 2018 F-150 when equipped with the upgraded 325 hp and 400 lb-ft. of torque 2.7L EcoBoost mated to the all-new 10-speed AT is now rated at 20/26 mpg city/highway. 2017 Ford F-150 Just three years ago, Ford introduced its high-strength aluminum-alloy-bodied F-150 with a massive loss in pounds and a large increase in capability. For 2018, the truck has been refreshed new styling, the latest technology, and what we have been talking about for over a year. That is the all-new 10-speed AT. Ford also added a few tidbits on its upcoming hyper efficient 3.0L V6 turbo diesel for F-150. The new F-150 offers the F-150’s most advanced engine offerings ever – all to offer the right engine for every hardworking truck customer. The second-gen 2.7L EcoBoost V6 provides another 25 lb.-ft. of torque over the original 2.7L EB introduced back in 2014 as a 2015 MY offering. Thanks to the 10-speed AT, RPMs are said to be lower providing the 1 mpg higher highway rating compared to the current 2017 model. Another upgrade comes from the second-gen 375 hp and 470 lb-ft. of torque 3.5L EcoBoost V6 now offers an incredible 13,200 pounds of towing cap with the truck configured in its lightest trim. The all-new naturally aspirated and standard 3.3L V6 is more powerful and efficient than the previously standard 3.5L V6. The one we have been waiting for, the in-house designed all-new 3.0L Power Stroke turbo diesel paired with the 10-speed AT will join the F-150 engine lineup in the spring of 2018. This could be the truck to own depending on how much Ford will be asking over their EB offerings. 2018 Ford F-150 Technology Updates Inside The new Ford F-150 can be equipped with adaptive CC with stop-and-go thanks to radar and camera technology to monitor traffic ahead. A new Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection is available to help drivers avoid or mitigate collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians. An available 4G LTE modem with Wi-Fi hotspot enables customers to connect up to 10 mobile devices at one time, virtually anywhere. New B&O PLAY audio system is available, offering high-end speakers, sound and tuning for a richer, more engaging listening experience. Available Pro Trailer Backup Assist allows F-150 drivers of various skill levels to steer a trailer instinctively using a center console-mounted dial to back-up a boat launch or park in a driveway. Available Blind Spot Information System with trailer coverage technology is optimized for F-150 to include up to 33 feet of trailer length; BLIS uses radar sensors in the taillamps to monitor areas that may not be visible to the driver around the truck and trailer. Available 360-degree camera technology helps improve driver confidence when parking and can help reduce stress when connecting a trailer – allowing customers to see more so they can focus on specific tasks such as lining up a hitch. Available lane-keeping system is designed to help reduce drifting of the truck outside its intended lane. The refreshed 2018 Ford F-150 goes on sale a few weeks from now.
Just sat here and giggled thinking if you told someone in 2007 that you had a Ford 150 with a gasoline motor rated at 325 hp and 400 lb-ft. of torque with a 26 mpg highway rating they'd think you were off your rocker.
I still use the flashlight regularly. The sleeping mat goes to my daughter most days now, I use an old-man 6" air mattress. The duffel just this year broke its handle and is retired. The tent is still good but 8ft x 8ft square won't work for a family of 6.
Hi Mike and Andrew: Feels like that drive was just week's ago. Until the day I die I will probably never forget this picture of Andrew! Mike, I was looking for that night time lapse of the battery lantern inside the tent that you took from outside. Loved that shot too! Wayne
Here's a few. I still use both flashlights pretty regularly, and the tent and sleeping bag get used every year or two. The sleeping bag was so comfortable on a chilly fall night when my friend was absolutely freezing in his bag.
Hi Mike: Great shot of the first gen EcoBoost in the 2011 Ford F-150! Here is looking back at you. Wayne
That back seat was TIGHT! Knees into the seatback, while front seat passenger is knees-to-dash. If I sat up straight my hair was brushing the ceiling. Oh, yeah. We used that sleeping bag as well 2 weeks ago in Yellowstone.
Definitely! That's me in the back of the Fiesta up there. ^ The truck had plenty of space for three across.
