Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has dropped 2.8¢ since last week to $2.234 - this time last year it was $2.274 so it's now 1.8% (-4.0¢) cheaper.
Diesel is also down at $2.441 (-1.2¢). It's now 2.9% (+6.9¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at an increasing 9.3% premium to regular.

HUMID. 79F and 90% humidity this morning. It hits you like a brick wall as you step out the door. It's ideal for mpg though.
    71.7 mpg / 5.1 - work this morning.

That drags my tank up 1.2 to 41.2 / 64 mi.

    80F here
    66.2 / 5.2 mi to work

Tank is up to 43.7 / 86 mi. I'm gonna have lots of "up" this tank, having started with some trailer towing.

Numbers ranging between 25 (Short trips when the engine kicks on aren't very good) and 90 mpg. Losing all feeling in my hands and feet is making it difficult to get better numbers. Seems like the day is almost where I can't drive anymore :(

disability appointment is three weeks away and I have no clue what to expect.

Hang in there, TFF. It's good that the C-MAX does most of the work for you w.r.t. hypermiling as long as you don't do anything out of character. Yes, short trips on a cold start are tough with any car. (except EVs and plug-ins and some Fits with crazy-good hypermilers) :D

Got home Weds night to find middle daughter had left her railcard at our house! She's on a holiday with her University mates to Greece and needed it for train journey back from Manchester Airport in a week's time.
Ate evening meal then hopped into her Fiat 500 to take it to her at her Uni digs.

Round trip 60.4mpg over 40.9 miles - pretty good :D

Bike ride last night at 19:00 - went for it! 16.7 miles @ 18.3mph average

Today . 67.5 deg F , wind WNW3. 35.0 miles , 69.1 MPG. Tank is at 438.5 miles , 70.96 MPG. I will take scenic route home tonight , so 74-75 MPG is possible. We had STRONG winds and some rain last night , we may get some more tonight.

I went for a haircut at lunch. ~87F and humid and sunny.

    44.9 / 1.3 out
    74.1 / 1.5 back

Tank is up 0.3 to 45.3 / 100. Nice when you can raise it like that over a short distance. :D

Ugh, getting out of PA was a toughie...several stops well off the freeway vaguely in the Wilkes-Barre area, so lots of twisty and undulating backroads better suited to anything with four wheels than 18. Even worse was the routing after my pick up. Anyone who's spent some time in PA knows that the Appalachians dictate the habitation and road routing in this state, so 80 miles to hit the freeway again of course had to involve things such as the cheapest possible chip seal road with zero lane markers and little towns with surprisingly busy tight little streets through old downtown.

So, the last few days started with around a 7mpg average despite a very light load, to around 10 once I hit Ohio and Michigan flatlands.

I'm probably in for a 7.5-8mpg day tomorrow as I'm back inbound to the Harrisburg, PA area in the thick of the mountains.

    It's a 2016 1.2 in Lounge trim so I think it's the 69bhp engine. I was happy with over 72mpgUK :D

There's a 0.9 which in theory is more efficient but in the hands of a "normal" driver with a heavy right foot it appears to get less mpgs than the 1.2

That's in line with the Ford truck guys saying that their (1990s) trucks got better in-town MPG with the less-stressed 5.8l than the 5.0l, the reverse being true on the freeway.

Yes, I like the concept of Fiat's Twinair ( is that what they call it? ) but sadly we'll never see one in the land of 1.8 liter motorcycles. Today , 74 deg F wind SW7 , which could have produced a PR inbound commute , but it turned out to be just "okay". 35.0 miles , 68.82 MPG. Tank is at 508.4 miles , 71.05 MPG. The afternoon trips home have been propping up this tank. Yesterday , scenic route , one long stop , 34.8 miles , 75.33 MPG. Today , I expect thunderstorms around the time I leave work. Ouch.

JCP, that sounds like a nice drive for a sporty little car, but no fun in your rig. :(

    54.4 / 5.3 - home last night
    59.1 / 5.3 - out to music practice
    63.1 / 5.4 - home
    68.3 / 5.2 - work this morning

Tank is up again, 2.1 mpg up, to 47.4 / 121 mi.

Had no thunderstorms (or any rain) going home yesterday , and Friday traffic kept the highway speed low. One stop at health club , 34.6 miles , 72.17 MPG. Today coming into work , 60.5 deg F , wind N5 (headwind). 35.0 miles , 64.73 MPG. Tank is at 578.3 miles , 70.68 MPG. I'm just going by my fcd and 0.93 correction factor ; my last three fills were at three different stations. I do like to use only one station , but it's not always convenient (especially if you're trying to max out a tank).
