Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has dropped 0.9¢ since last week to $2.338 - this time last year it was $2.221 so it's now only 5.3% (+11.7¢) more expensive.
Diesel is also down at $2.500 (-1.2¢). It's now 11.9% (+26.6¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at a 6.9% premium to regular.

This morning , 50 deg F, very slight headwind . 16.3 miles , 70.31 MPG. Tank is at 224.8 miles , 68.82 MPG. Could this be the first 70+ tank of the year ? We'll see. Depends a lot on whether or not I use "scenic route " often enough.

Well, ended this stint on the road. 6800 miles at 7.5mpg :/

I got my first fill in the Civic...43.7mpg and that without really pushing too hard with techniques. So I think that's a good sign!

The downside is, it comes with asterisks. I was cash-only for a while after my wallet was stolen and I did a bunch of partial fills at different places to get me by, so who knows what kind of fill error lurks in this one.

Bit better again this morning, big queue before traffic light section but managed to drive past most of it in the other lane and "nip" in near the first lights :p, mild 62°F, 8mph cross/headwind SSW:

Today , 63 deg F , wind SSW8. Took new shorter route again this morning , along with leaving 15 min later. NOT GOOD. Way too many traffic signals , all of them triggered by cars approaching on side streets. Yes, it's almost 2 miles shorter , but results were not so great ( considering perfect weather and wind). 33.2 miles , 68.91 MPG. Tank is at 292.4 miles , 69.56 MPG. Today , I take the highway home as I need to go to the health club.

Ha ha, not normally Andrew, but it's been getting a bit silly in a morning on that stretch and there was a nice big gap so it seemed a shame not to take advantage of it and keep some of my momentum

Amazing - although a bit busier than yesterday made it to motorway again last night, 66°F, 7mph cross/tailwind SSW:

    43.0 / 22.5

This morning, slightly smaller queue before traffic light section but both lanes were crawling so this time I stuck to the proper lane ;), raining, 59°F, 4mph crosswind S:

Wallet thing was done by some amateurs. They spent $60 at a supermarket and $15 at a Shell station, of all places, before I got it shut down and reimbursed. I'm monitoring but pretty sure they dumped the whole thing the first time it quit working.

I'm looking for 45 as my first benchmark in the Civic. I've got just enough miles on it that I'm beginning to understand how it runs, and I think a couple of tweaks on my route might be the next thing.

After some time at home, I'm back in the truck. 7.7mpg from Dallas to Kansas City...very full load so I'm not dissatisfied with that.

No chance of getting to motorway last night, still raining, 52°F, 3mph tail/crosswind WNW:

    39.7 / 20.5

This morning nothing went my way, I was even thwarted on car pooler's dead-end street during my usual engine-off reverse, cooler but sunny 46°F, 4mph headwind W:

43.6 / 22.5 - the FCD seemed to reset on car pooler's street, maybe this is why the UG was indicating a 50.2 mpg run??

Well, we went to Tuscaloosa AL for a graduation from High school on Thursday, then help setup for Wedding on Friday, then the wedding on Saturday with cleanup. Mothers day with parents and Sister, First time in a long time we were all together. Left AL and sent to Searcy AR Sunday afternoon. Looked at 10 house Monday, made an offer on one and then looked at 2 more on Tuesday waiting to hear back. Offer was accepted so we will close here in Joplin June 15th and close in Searcy on June 16th if all goes through without hassle. Wednesday stopped at Ft Smith to see MIL then headed home. I would say the average was around 34-35 MPG in the Sonata. Found there is a leak letting water in to the wheel well of the trunk when it rains. Before we left there was an inch of water in the bottom.

I go through Joplin all the time, Searcy not as often.

Not too terrible today. Took almost exactly 9 hours of drive time to rack up 480 miles, and shut down for the night at 9.0mpg for the day, and total since leaving home of 8.1mpg.
