Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has dropped back 2.6¢ to $2.343 - this time last year it was $1.91 so it's nearly 18.5% or 43.3¢ more expensive!
Diesel is almost unchanged (-0.2¢) at $2.530. It's now 36.7¢ more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at an 8% premium to regular.

Roads were the same for me , but I'm driving between 4:25 and 5:15 AM. 32.5 deg F , wind E2. 35.0 miles , 57.38 MPG. Freezing rain , but roads were okay. We'll see what they are like at 3:30 today.

Here in Northern Europe it's winter too. 25 deg F and sunshine during the day. Realizing that the days are going to be longer again. Heating the car 45 minutes before starting this morning so that the icy cover melted and the engine became warm enough. Total 36 miles, due to icy streets impossible / too dangerous to go faster than 40 MPH on country roads. Pulse and glide as far as possible, so 78 MPG with my small Diesel.
Btw. Diesel costs 4.03 USD per gallon (1.14 EUR per Liter), petrol is 35% more.

In the UK, it's the opposite - diesel costs more then gas (petrol).
    Regular costs $4.18 (1.137 GBP/litre) and diesel is $4.29 (1.167 GBP /litre).

Something went wrong with yesterday's post  so here's 2 days daily grind:

Going home Tuesday night, didn't even make it to detour #2, stupid busy crawling uphill, averaged 8mph for first 4 miles. At least the auto stop/start system worked well after 2 miles or it would have been a lot worse!, 2UP, 41°F, drizzling, 6mph tail/crosswind SW:

    37.5 / 20.1

To work Weds morning, more drizzle, 2UP, 45°F, 7mph head/crosswind SW:

    44.6 / 22.5

    Tank down 0.5 at 43.0 (FCD 45.4) / 278.9 / Range 305 . Guess gauge F___«|««««E . UG down 0.9 at 43.1 / DTE303

    Lost 3rd pip @ 260 miles

Going home last night, made it to detour #2, much better run - broke 40mpg, 2UP, 46°F, drizzling, 3mph headwind W:

    41.7 / 20.1

To work this morning, still drizzling, motorway came to a standstill due to an accident, 2UP, 41°F, 1mph tailwind E:

    45.2 / 22.8

    Tank steady at 43.0 (FCD 45.4) / 321.8 / Range 260 . Guess gauge F___«|««««E . UG steady at 43.1 / DTE261
