    Nissan August 2016 Sales Overview

    The Nissan Group (Nissan and Infiniti combined) sold 124,638 vehicles, down 6.5% from the 133,351 sold in August of 2015.

    YTD sales of 1,055,227 are up 5.4 percent compared to the 1,000,706 vehicles sold through the same period of 2015.

    Nissan August 2016 Sales Highlights

    There were four Nissan standouts in August.

    The Rogue set an August sales record with 32,979 sold, up 19.2 percent over the 27,665 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 215,160 is up 14.4 percent over the 188,143 sold through the same period of 2015.

    The aging Frontier must have had a ton of OEM and dealership support as sales reached 9,537, up 161.6 percent over the 3,645 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 61,792 is up 44.9 percent over the 42,644 sold through the same period of 2015.

    Murano set an August sales record with 7,482 sold, up 29.0 percent over the 5,800 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 53,246 are up 34.0 percent over the 39,734 sold during the same period of 2015.

    Nissan Maxima sales reached 6,064, up 42.7 percent over the 4,250 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 42,807 is up an eye popping 86.7 percent over the 22,930 sold during through the same period of 2015.

    August 2016 U.S. Automobile Market Share Detail

    In August, Ford’s U.S. market share was down a significant 0.7 percent.

    Subaru on the other hand experienced an uptick of 0.7 percent thanks to their blowout August results shown below.

    On a volume basis, August of 2016 US Auto sales of 1.51 million vehicles down a rather steep 3.8 percent below August of 2015s 1.57 million vehicle sales result.

    2016 YTD sales of 11.2 million is up 0.3 percent above the 11.58 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015.

    In August, Toyota moved within 1,357 vehicles of overtaking Ford for the 2nd position. The juggernaut called Subaru overtook Kia and has now placed Hyundai clearly in its gun sights.

    The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in August was 17.2 million vehicles. On a YTD sales basis, light-vehicle SAAR was 17.3 million vehicles.

    [​IMG] Nissan Canada August 2016 Sales Down 2.8% with 11,508 Vehicles Sold

    The Nissan Canada Group announced that it sold 11,508 vehicles in August, down 2.8 percent from the 11,840 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 92,556 are still up 5.8 percent over the 87,507 sold through the same period of 2015.

    Nissan brand sales of 10,521 were down 3.1 percent while YTD sales are up 5.7 percent.

    Nissan Canada August Highlights
    • LEAF sales set an all-time sales record in August with 170 sold, up 37.1 percent
    • Rogue sales set a new August sales record with 3,730 vehicles sold, up 2.7 percent
    • Murano also set an August sales record with 1,203 vehicles sold, up 42.5 percent
