Honda August 2016 Sales Overview Honda reported August sales of 149,571 Honda and Acura vehicles, down 3.8 percent from the 155,491 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 1,094,725 is still up 3.8 percent over the 1,054,816 sold through the same period of 2015. Honda trucks set a new August record with sales of 76,140, up 4.3 percent over the 73,008 sold in August of 2015. Honda sales by themselves totaled 135,325 vehicles, down 3.5 percent from the 140,178 sold in August of 2015. Acura sales of 14,246 vehicles were down 7 percent from the 15,313 sold in August of 2015. Honda August 2016 Sales Highlights In August, it was all CR-V as that model set its second consecutive monthly sales record, sits at the top of the non-Pickup truck U.S. sales, and outsold everything in the entire company’s lineup. August sales of 36,517 was up 5.0 percent over the 34,771 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 231,609 is up 0.9 percent over the 229,574 sold through the same period of 2015. Along with the CR-V, the Civic and Accord also topped the 30,000 vehicles sold in August. August 2016 U.S. Automobile Market Share Detail In August, Ford’s U.S. market share was down a significant 0.7 percent. Subaru on the other hand experienced an uptick of 0.7 percent thanks to their blowout August results shown below. On a volume basis, August of 2016 US Auto sales of 1.51 million vehicles down a rather steep 3.8 percent below August of 2015s 1.57 million vehicle sales result. 2016 YTD sales of 11.2 million is up 0.3 percent above the 11.58 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. The juggernaut called Subaru overtook Kia and has now placed Hyundai clearly in its gun sights. The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in August was 17.2 million vehicles. On a YTD sales basis, light-vehicle SAAR was 17.3 million vehicles.
Honda Canada August 2016 Sales Up 3.2% with 17,828 Vehicles Sold Honda Canada reported it sold 17,828 vehicles in August, up 3.2 percent over the 17,277 sold in August of 2015. YTD sales of 124,228 are p 6.5 percent over the 116,660 sold through the same period of 2015. Honda on its own achieved August sales of 15,764 vehicles, up 1.8 percent over the 15,482 sold in August of 2015. Acura reported it sold 2,064 vehicles in August, up 6.5 percent over the 116,680 sold in August of 2015. Like the U.S, CR-V topped its best August ever with 4,774 vehicles sold versus the previous best August in 2015 when 3,351 were sold.
